The Official Introduce Yourself Thread

  • Hello people,

I've been gaming for a really long time, since the late 70's.

I found a link to Construct 2 in an email from Microsoft so I stopped by and I'm very intrigued.

I hope to spend some serious time making games and finding those darn cookies someone mentioned.

  • Hi! The name is George, but people call me coolernow123, because they see my username before they know my first name. So I have this YouTube channel...

    youtube.com/coolernow123

..and I am starting to get bored with the stuff I do on there, so I am slowly transitioning to game development.

I have already tried Stencyl, but it was clunky.

Then I tried Unity, but I couldn't get ANYWHERE with that.

Finally, I tried Multimedia Fusion 2, but that was very limited.

Now I hope to find a permanent home here at Scirra!

    So...hi!

My intention is to combine my professional knowledge to my favorite hobby.

Together we will see what the final result will be.

    Greetings to the entire community.

    Stingray.

Tenham em mente que quando uma criao publicada, no s agrega experincia ao criador, mas tambm auxilia nos demais criadores existentes nesse caminho...

  • Hi All

My name is Mike and I work for a company called Flight Centre.

I have been involved with creating Facebook games and competitions that promote our various brands and engage our Facebook audience.

I came across Construct 2 while looking for the best way to build our next game. After 15min playing around with it I fell in love with C2 Fantastic program!

Looking forward to creating some awesome games here.

    Cheers

    Mike

  • Hi folks,

    I'm Alex.

My earliest recollection of video games starts with a small cabinet hosting a dodgy plastic steering wheel, a B/W CRT (kids go and Google B/W CRT) and a cardboard cutout of a race car sitting just above the screen which attached, via some linkage, to the steering wheel. You'd put your 10 cents in the slot and then you'd have to keep the cardboard cutout car within the dotted white lines at both sides of the road. The white lines moved side to side and faster and faster until you 'crashed'. Very cool (not) in the late 70's. (And pinball machines had just started getting TTL IC's in them...wow! No wonder it was a cool time right?)

I played Space Invaders when it was new! Hugely popular with kids for that time but probably not as much as MW3 was in recent times doing $775 mil in a week or so! Xevious was a favorite of mine.

Anyhow, I'm trying to do a Comp Sci degree (major in Games programming) via DE in Australia. I don't think I'll wind up in a game studio as, apparently the average age is really young, the hours are insane and it's not family friendly, however, Comp. Sci. is broad and I'll find something useful to do within it (if I can handle a partner, two babies and a full time mechanic's job whilst simultaneously meeting study requirements...over committed?) _/\/\_

Maybe Construct is going to distract me too much? What a great tool for developing all kinds of ideas!!!! My brain is sure to burst.

It's great to see a healthy and active forum.

  • Hi Mike,

Just the same as you I spent a little time dabbling and recognised it for what it is.

Good luck with it. Once the boss finds out you are so smart he's going to promote you for sure!

    A.

  • Hi, My name is Rudy.

Just started with making game about a month ago. I've always thought about making my own games but never put it into action until recently. Ima BIG fan of psx era Final Fantasys, 7-9. I also really loved side-scrolling game that I've seen people here call "metroidvania" with symphony of the night being one of my absolute favorites. I love construct because so its easy once you learn it and I love the fact that theres a forum i can go to when I'am absolutely stuck with something.

  • Hello World! I'm F.L.Taylor aka 'Techlord' in various 3D game creation forums:1,2,3,4. I'm a games, application, web developer using the amazing Construct 2 to power a HTML5 Wordpress Theme and integrated Tournament Games at ArcadeKomodo.com.

  • Greetings!

Looks like we're having fun now! Construct2 seems a lot more intuitive than Maker and Salad. I'm a pediatrician, with and art background and graduate schooling in medical informatics. Hope to make some fun games for kids and healthcare apps too.

    Peace to all.
