  • Compare Two Values: len(InputBox.text)>2

  • Create a Text or SpriteFont object and add an action like this:

ScoreText set Text to "My score: "&Player.ScoreVariable

  • The loop doesn't miss repeats. But if you are picking a random instance 3 times, it's possible that sometimes the same instance will be picked again. If you want to avoid this, you need to somehow mark already picked instances, for example by setting a boolean variable isPicked=true. Add a condition "isPicked is not set" before "Pick random Cards instance".

Or you might use "Cards MoveTo is not moving" condition.

  • Try Construct 3

Develop games in your browser. Powerful, performant & highly capable.

  • Here are two versions of the LiteTween plugin, try opening the project in 204.2 with each of them:

    dropbox.com/s/mca7fkjbxqs8vkw/litetween_C3.zip

If you manage to open the project, save it with a new name. If LiteTween is not used for anything important, I would suggest removing it and replacing with the official Tween behavior.

  • In NWJS game - use expressions like ProjectFilesFolder, AppFolderURL etc.

    See the documentation:

    construct.net/en/make-games/manuals/construct-3/plugin-reference/nw-js

  • It basically means "move at angle"

So targetX and targetY coordinates will be set 2000px away from (startX, startY), at angle Player.Angle

  • No, use an instance variable for the Owner.

  • Add all arrays to a family, create an instance variable, say, Owner. Then you will be able to pick ArrayFamily by comparing Owner=Speaker. And then set text to ArrayFamily.At(....)

Another option is to use a single Dialog array object with multiple instances. Just like you have multiple sprite instance, you can create multiple array instances. Then use the same trick of picking the right instance by comparing the instance variable.

  • I noticed this before in C2 - if you press multiple gamepad buttons fast, quite often "On button pressed" is not triggered. I'm guessing it's the same in C3.

It's better not to rely on this event and use "Is button down" condition, which seems to work correctly all the time.

  • You can use "Player Spawn Sword" action, or "System Create Object Sword at (Player.x, Player.y)". Make sure also to select the correct layer.

I suggest you check out a few templates included in Constuct. They are really helpful for a beginner.

  • Fonts may be rendered differently, so if you need precision, use a SpriteFont. You can change SpriteFont scale.

  • Most problems with Local Storage happen when people are trying to access data before it's loaded. Or writing and reading data simultaneously in one tick. If you avoid making these mistake, then LS should work just fine.

Unless your JSON data is very large, saving/loading should take a fraction of a second. You can add a wait of 0.5-1 seconds, but to be safe use "LocalStorage On exist" or "LocalStorage On set" events. For example, if you need to save to LS and switch to another layout, move "Go to layout" action into the "LocalStorage On item set" event.
