  • I have the same problem with that before then i removed the browser plugin and pooof it runs smoothly now.

    You removed the browser plugin only in XDK or in the CAPX file too?

  • Graphics and parallax is good. Jump is too high.

    And it's unclear which sprites are obstacles nd which are collectibles.

  • Ok I just created another port of the same game I've been working on last year.

    All I did was replace the images with higher quality ones and added a little bit of sine but now I'm getting BLACK SCREEN AGAIN. Now I know for sure it isn't a memory problem this time as I'm making sure my memory is 30mb or lower.

    Sigh.

    What now? Is there an updated version of XDK tutorials for Feb 20, 2017 4:00 pm ?????

  • Ok first of all the opening sequences are very well drawn (by hand by the look of it) but I didn't like the combination of great watercolor (or pencil) drawn with the generic looking pixel art font inside a square balloon.

    But when I started the game...WOW.

    THAT's how you create a platformer. Familiar yet fresh. Disappearing blocks have been around possibly since before Megaman but when you give the player complete control it transforms a generic platformer into a Gem.

    Level design is great too. It's one thing to be able to invent mechanics but another to actually implement them intelligently and I thought level 1 was brilliant in just introducing the bare minimum. The height of the jump to roughly the same height as 1 block forces the player to really plan out his actions. The range of the jump also makes it perfect for the player to judge if it's worth shooting a pellet or save it for later.

    I can't wait to play through the rest of the game when I find the time.

  • The creation of the ropes using loops is a bit difficult for me. I can't find which rope I should put the pinata on.

    Will try and develop my own later.

    I had just dl'd Rex's plugins today through his downloader and it's a bit overwhelming to have a lot of plugins to choose from suddenly. Wish we had a "favorite plugins" tab where we can organize our most-used plugins to fit our needs.

  • Don't know about LAN but generating a test URL every time sounds interesting.

    Imagine anyone can test your game at any time during testing phase.
