  • The next lesson is pretty much already done. And I'm sorry, the two enemies are different and have different event sheets. I'm still deciding whether or not one small bit of events is good enough to release the lesson though (having to do with how the enemies avoid each other), and I still have to write the event comments.

    There will be some families stuff in the ninth lesson, though.

    For those who want to get the tutorials working with 98.8, etc. etc.

    Just a heads up, you no longer need to do this. The tutorials now work just fine in version 98.8.

  • I'm not looking for a different voice, just the ability to change the pitch, which I believe you can do in windows with the default voice so perhaps it's possible? I dunno. Regardless, the "Is playing" and "Stop" thingers are what I need most.

  • LOL only because I've tried to make a physics platformer too, it's not as easy as it sounds

  • I made an example of a car with suspension using the apply spring force action:

    It's a little bouncy, but you could probably tweak the spring values until it's better.

  • Would it be possible to implement a "Stop" action for the Text-to-Speech object? I'd also like an "Is speaking" condition.

    Also (and this one isn't as important) maybe some kind of pitch/speed settings as well, if possible? If that's not doable then the default voice will work okay, I'd just like to lower it a little bit. I do need the first two though, to make a sprite character "talk" using the text to speech object, something like:

    +TTS: Is speaking
       ->Sprite: Set animation to "MoveMouth"
    +Else
       ->Sprite: Set animation to "Idle"

  • Very nice overall . Some of the dialogue is a bit clunky, and by the end of the game I was just spamming boxes everywhere to get through, but it was good for the most part. The atmosphere and music are really what sets this game off.

    Had a bit of trouble with jumping sometimes, too, but hey that's physics for you.
