  • edit@ What worries me is that with 800x600 displaing on hd tely, picture might be stretched.

Change the resizing mode in properties to "Show more window content." Then it won't stretch.

And if you want to maintain the game's aspect ratio on different monitors at fullscreen, you can fake it with black bars.

  • As far as I know Construct can set fullscreen at any resolution. Maybe your monitor doesn't support 720x480.

  • That's what Private Variables are for.

  • Thanks for the info on how to get images up.

    OK, here goes...

Here is the latest 2D digital puppet Ive completed.

Haha, that's awesome . I like your cartoony art style.

I'd like to check out you puppets some time, you should find a file host and share those too.

  • Well they've already changed forum software once before and no old threads were lost. And the only person to complain about losing the old theme was me, so I recreated the original forum's Czar Green theme.

If you want to see what the forums used to look like, try that theme (it's the best theme)

  • This is awesome work so far . Very nice job.

I can't figure out what the newline character is, though. It looks like two pipes in the edit box to me, but when I type two pipes nothing happens.

  • Try Construct 3

Develop games in your browser. Powerful, performant & highly capable.

Try Now Construct 3 users don't see these ads
  • I disagree, it pretty much is The Construct

  • Um... you can't make a camera like the one in the Witcher video you posted... because that's a 3D camera.

As Davio said though, you can do isometric like Diablo. And Construct's scrolling already works like Diablo. You don't have to do anything special with the scrolling except have the screen scroll to whatever object you want to view.

But he's also right about the isometric... it's tough to do. I wish you luck.

  • If you use the text concatenator & then you don't need to use str(). It's converted automatically.

    Like so:

    "Value = " & random(5) & "! lol"[/code:2oybl3oj]
  • Either...Im guessing a screenshot would be easier.

I'm going to just post the whole process from beginning to end so if you already know this stuff, I mean no disrespect:

    1. With your game window selected, hold down the Alt key while pressing the Print Screen (or Prt Scn key as the case may be) on your keyboard to get a snapshot of your game window.

    2. Open MSPaint.

    3. Hold down Ctrl while pressing V to paste the snapshot into MSPaint.

    4. Save as a .PNG file.

    5. Find an image host (like TinyPic) and follow the instructions to upload your screenshot image. It will give you an URL.

    6. Copy and paste the URL (if you're using TinyPic then you want the one labeled "Direct link for layouts") into your post.

    7. Highlight the URL and press the

button above the post window to add image tags around your URL.

    8. You're done, so post!

  • You mean you want to post a screenshot, or you want to upload some actual .exe or .cap files for us to try out?
