  • Hmm, is your server set up to work with unicode? It would be nice if we could prevent exported projects going wrong if you used special characters. We can't fix misconfigured servers, but if it's C2's fault we might be able to help.

  • Please see how to report bugs. It is extremely difficult to do anything about a problem without a .capx file, and steps to reproduce the problem. It will help me fix the problem even quicker if you can provide a minimal .capx designed from scratch which reproduces the problem.

  • I am using r103.2, and everything works fine. Can you provide any extra information about the problem? For example does it do it on other computers or just yours? What about if you try other browsers?

  • It looks like there's a syntax error in one of your expressions: it just says 'Particles' where it needs a full expression, on line 1831 of the file. It is impossible to help further without a better description of the problem, or your .capx file. Please see how to report bugs.

  • It might be a bug in Awesomium. You might want to tell them about it. But without specific information on which versions of which operating systems are affected it's hard to help any further.

  • Everyone makes arguments like this about each individual limitation in the free edition, but ultimately we have to put limits in the free edition otherwise we would never sell anything and have to shut down the company!

Preview on LAN basically shows you what you see if you export, upload to your server, then browse to it on the device - but it makes that workflow instant. So just imagine you can do that whole process instantly.

  • Well, doesn't letterbox scale do most of that for you? It will handle different aspect ratios, wildly different screen sizes, and different pixel densities too, as well as providing a basic implementation of handling orientation (just scale to fit the new size). You can create a customised anchor by using the system viewport expressions. Are you sure you are not making it unnecessarily complicated by reinventing the wheel in crop mode?

  • farsmile90 - we get a great deal of email including many different people sending us .capx files, and I'm afraid I've already lost your .capx in the mail archives. This is why it's better to share .capx's publicly if possible. Can you resend it or at least tell me what email address you sent it from so I can work out which emails relate to this report?

  • It looks OK in r103.2 (a quiet update). Have you tried that?

  • I can't reproduce any issue in Chrome 21, is there anything else you have to do to make the problem occur?

    Are you using r103.2?

  • It's not a done deal: they might mean they support HTML5 websites, not necessarily games. Even if they support canvas, there are unanswered questions which can only really be answered by trying it out: is it actually fast enough to be useful? Does it support WebGL? Does it support the Gamepad API, otherwise how do you detect input? Etc.

Despite that, we are 100% on board to support any consoles which support HTML5 - they just have to have a decent enough implementation that the games run well. If they're software rendered with no way to detect controller input, it would be a let down...

  • I'm afraid we don't have any upcoming discounts planned. You could try entering our next competition though - we're trying to think up a good idea for a new one!
