  • I'm looking at the Turret behavior in Classic, and I'm not sure what you mean, I can't see any 'Arc' features. I think C2 has a pretty complete port of the Classic version. You can do things like check if an object is within an angle via conditions in the Sprite object (not part of the behavior).

  • Try Construct 3

  • — - no. Nothing affects image performance at runtime, other than if you draw lots of images, or use blend modes or shaders.

  • This is currently intended - due to some issues in Steam's x64 support and delivery mechanism we decided to press ahead with a 32-bit only release rather than delay to fix the x64 issues. It's no major concern though since the features are identical. We're working on bringing x64 support, as well as beta updates, to Steam in the near future.

  • Download only - images are usually decompressed to bitmap when starting the actual game, regardless of whether they were sent as PNG or JPEG.

  • If you bought from our site then you haven't bought the Steam version, you bought the standalone version. Install from the link on our site and then place your c2license.txt file in the install directory.

  • It's not yet available via Steam, it should be coming soon. In the mean time email us at supportljp@scirra.com and we can send them to you.

  • Lowering the screen resolution will only improve render performance, not logic performance. If your events are the bottleneck, you need to improve them, since reducing the screen resolution is unlikely to make it much faster.

If the rendering is the bottleneck, if you're using a hardware-accelerated technology like CocoonJS then it's probably limited by the hardware. In that case you'd just have to scale back the amount of drawing on the screen.

  • Since WebSocket is a standardised protocol, it should be able to talk to any up-to-date WebSocket server, such as one written in C++, or a Node.js version, and so on.

  • It's not to do with RAM. It's because Construct 2 doesn't know what to set for the object's properties if none exists. For example, the instance variables, object settings, behavior parameters and so on are all empty. So if it had a bullet behavior, what speed do you use? Zero? The default value? I don't think either is what you really intend.

We could fix it by allowing you to set properties when no instances are selected but for architectural reasons it's a little tricky. The workaround is to use an unused layout where you dump your one instance of an object.

  • That's not an error, it's just information! You can keep going and proceed with step 2 below!

  • It works in Firefox, but not in any other browser. Our code is trivial, so it looks like most browsers just don't support double-right-clicks, probably because it's a very unusual input method! (Where have you ever seen another game or app that needed a double-right click?) So I'm closing this as won't fix - I recommend you use a different input method...
