Seats

As defined in the opening section of this tutorial, a seat represents one Construct 3 license. Your subscription then contains your licenses.

One seat in your subscription will always be assigned to the main account holder. This is so there is always someone responsible for handling the account and assigning the remaining seats – this can be done in one of two ways.

Firstly, you can directly assign a seat to an account. This will grant a specified account access to a full Construct 3 license. This does require the recipient to register an account with us, so we do store some personal data including emails.

The second option (which we'll go into more detail for shortly) is to use Access Codes. These are time-limited codes that will temporarily give access without needing to log into an account.

You can use any combination of Access Codes and Assigned Licenses, but bear in mind that they come from the same pool. So, for example, if you have 30 licenses, one will automatically be assigned to the main account, leaving 29 in the pool. You could then assign 5 to specific accounts, which would leave 24 in the pool to use with Access Codes.

A class of 24 students could then use an Access Code for their lesson. However, if a 25th person tried to use the Access Code, one of the existing Access Code users would be signed out as there were only 24 available seats in the Access Code pool.

You can also change the configuration of the assigned licenses at any time. So, if you find you suddenly need an extra license for a class and one of your hard-assigned accounts isn't being used, you can swap it to the Access Code pool. If at any point you need to adjust the number of seats in your plan, please get in touch.
