I've got this Tutorial split into 3 different types of movement based on 3 different behaviors. You can download the .capx and apply any of these events to your game's control.
Part_1 8 Directional Movement
This uses the 8 Directional Behavior, I split it into two groups, 4 direction and the diagonal movement so you can separate them for your needs.
Part_2 Smooth Scrolling Movement
Just two events, simple, the object scroll speed is based on how far you push the stick in either direction, making it perfect for a Super Smash Bros. Style Menu cursor.
Part_3 Platforming Movement
Very Simple, just applied the 4 directional movement to a Platforming behavior, also, changed it up a bit to add a crouch mechanic.
