Notes

This is our new annual Long Term Support (LTS) release of Construct, based off the stable release r495, with a few additional fixes included in this update. This LTS release will be supported with essential bug fixes and maintenance up until the end of 2027. Support for the previous r449 LTS release is scheduled to last until the end of 2026, so if you are still on that release you may wish to consider updating soon. Beyond that the last r449 LTS release will remain available, but is not scheduled to receive any further updates, so further use will be at your own risk. Learn more about release channels and the support schedule in the Construct release channels manual entry.

Note that the r450 release was a major compatibility milestone, retiring support for several features including legacy (SDK v1) third-party plugins and behaviors, and the NW.js exporter. This is the first LTS release since then, so these features are no longer in this LTS release. There are a great many new features and updates since r449 - see all the intervening stable releases for a summary of what's new, including the 3D model object, a new 3D editor view, dynamic sampling, WebGPU rendering, pinning editor bars, and more.

  • I have to stay on r449 to maintain my project, but I'm unable to download it as a chrome app (it automatically updates to new LTS) and in the browser I get a notification EVERY TIME I start asking me to update. Could you guys please make it easier to stay on the older version before making this change final?

      Newer releases have a setting to disable update notifications, but unfortunately it came after r449 so it doesn't respect that. We will publish a patch for r449 in the near future that respects the setting in newer releases so it won't show update notifications. We'll look into what can be done about installed apps, but it might be limited by what Chrome supports (I don't believe there's a way to choose between the launch URL, and the default is the latest on the release channel.)

        Appreciate it! And if there is a way to easily swap versions from the chrome app, that would be brilliant.
