  • Does the Sine behavior change the object’s position? Maybe the object gets stuck in obstacles, and Sine nudges it out — that could explain why the Pathfinding behavior doesn’t work without Sine.

I think you need to fix your pathfinding grid. See the official documentation:

    https://www.construct.net/en/make-games/manuals/construct-3/behavior-reference/pathfinding#internalH1Link0

I did think of that and it made sense, but when I tried to test it on a completely empty area and made the collision smaller, it still didn't work. But to answer the question, the sine does change the position a bit (it has a magnitude of 1).

(This is the code for it all btw)

  • So, I'm making a horror game and for some reason, my entity's pathfinding behavior ONLY works properly when it has no less than 2 sine behaviors enabled. I've looked multiple times, there is no mention of the sine behavior in the code, the monster didn't even have the sine behavior while I was making its code cause I had no idea it needed it.

Oh, and not just that, for some reason, the sine behaviors all have to be SPECIFICALLY on the top of the behaviors list, or else it breaks.

For reference, this monster basically hears sounds the player makes and slowly walks towards them, eventually chasing the player once they spot him.

Is the pathfinding behavior somehow connected to the sine behavior or something?

  • It looks cool but it was so laggy it wouldnt register me pushing any buttons, when i went of screen and came back the character had moved and was swimming on its own, not sure if thats relevant.

Weird, I didn't come across this issue while playtesting and neither did the other people who played it. Maybe it's your browser?

  • Hey everyone! This is my newest game: Virus Client!

It's a 2D management game where you need to keep your PC alive, but there are various types of malware! If PC integrity reaches 0%, you get a blue screen and lose. There are also apps that help you keep track of files, buy new stuff, and recover files. Each malware critter (yes the in-game software are just silly little guys that physically walk around in the workspace) has a benefit and a detriment. One of them could give you money, but also compromise PC integrity.

For the funsies, the game has a few references to classic viruses like YouAreAnIdiot.org, some references to my other works, and also a few inside jokes which appear through in-game e-mails and pop-ups.

Feedback is more than welcome, and I'd love to hear what y'all think of it! I'm going to leave a few images ot it below

  • Hey y'all, I wanna present my newest game: That Annoying Crab!! It's essentially a diving and exploration game, where you have to explore the Obtusque Sea, and photograph various different types of fish to win. You have upgrades for your oxygen tank, suit, and even a shield.

There's a bunch of other stuff, like mining, so you can get metal scraps, for unlocking new areas and upgrades. Baits are distraction for predators chasing you, there is also... The Crab (which is the thing on the game's title), The Crab is an all-powerful creature, it can essentially, destroy metal scraps you find, spawn predators nearby, and lower your oxygen. You can scare it away with your camera's flash, though.

The story is that this corporation named S.E.A.S. (get it?) is researching this newly found sea named the Obtusque Sea. You are assigned to explore it, and prove that the supposed wild-life of it truly exists.

You can see the controls and more information on how to play the game on it's Itch.io page. I hope you all enjoy it, and I'd love to get some feedback on it!

  • I think it's pretty awesome! I like the art and the gameplay itself, though I could only pass a couple levels 😅. Not bad! :D

Thank you! I'm glad you liked it!

  • nightfoxy25-animations.itch.io/sleep-donut

Hey everyone. This is Sleep Donut, my newest game! I made for Mini Jam 180. Essentially, in the game, you're a delivery guy that needs to steal something from the government, but he's not sure what he needs to steal. You have some sleeping pill-infused donuts, to make any suspecting agents go to sleep.

The gameplay is split into puzzle and shooter levels. There's 8 puzzle levels and 2 shooter ones. In puzzle levels, you get a limited amount of donuts and NO movement. The objective is to make ALL agents in the level sleep, you need to make a strategy of where to toss your donuts and how you use them. When you feed all agents, you pass. But if you fail to feed then all, you lose!

Shooter levels are split into two sections. In the first section, you are falling down, and need to shoot enemies while falling to survive. The second section is a top-down shooter, where you gotta shoot enemies and arrive at the exit.

That's all about the game. Feedback is more than welcome, I want to improve this game any way I can!

  • Remove "Trigger once" condition. Never use it with objects that have multiple instances.

Then what should I use? For each?

  • I see... in the next update I'll add the possibility to delete stuff.

  • nightfoxy25-animations.itch.io/bols

This is an early access version of my most complex project so far: BOLS! An evolution/life simulator with sandbox features.

On this game, you can place environment elements (bushes, trees, lakes, caves/hiding spots, etc.) or the silly animals that inhabit this world, which I called: CRITTERS (Bols, Pipes, Beefies and Avians)! Critters are best described as small, stubby-legged animals that have features of many other different animal groups (mammals, birds, etc.).

Each critter has a unique behavior, downside, property or diet that makes it stand out or survive better: a Pipe eats only meat, so it can extinguish itself from overeating, an Avian can fly, but some Avians can't grab food when they fly. Critters in general have complex behaviors, like hiding for prey, mating, eating, drinking, sleeping, running away, searching, etc.

I hope you all enjoy this game as much as I enjoy making it. I'm really proud of what it is right now. Feedback is more than welcome!

  • I've been working on this sandbox evolution/life simulator as a side project, while I wait for my next game jam.

I like to call the animals you see on the game as "critters", and they're part of the Crittae phylum.

I was able to make the creatures have pretty complex behavior (sickness, mating, sneezing, hiding, running...), I'm pretty proud of what it is so far.

I'm gonna begin working to add more critters, complex food searching, fights, more traits, stat menus for each critter, etc.
