  • Neat. I think this shows Adobe are taking HTML5 seriously - they want to have good HTML5 tools so they're still relevant if (when?) HTML5 overtakes Flash. It's only for animation though - nothing like C2.

  • Expression names are ignored right now. I was going to have them listed in the object panel, but opted for the actual expression text itself. It's worth having names anyway - I might use them for some other part of the UI in future.

  • Egh, this is really stupid. It's a bug in Windows. If you create a new folder, type a new name, and immediately click "OK" while the folder name edit box is still up, it returns a path to a folder called "New Folder", rather than the new name you typed in. I played with it a bit, trawled over the docs, and checked Google, but no answers. So I've "fixed" it in the next build - it just re-launches the dialog in that situation. Stupid solution but it's all I can find that works.

  • I intend to implement SHA-1 and SHA-256 in the same plugin. I'll first have to get the md5 different outputs to correctly work and then implement the other.

It should end as a multi-algorithms Hash plugin.

Just a heads up: the plugin ID in edittime.js GetPluginSettings() is currently "MD5". You can change all the other settings at any time, but the ID is the string C2 uses to identify your plugin. If you change the ID from "MD5" to something else, all existing projects using the plugin will no longer load, since C2 will consider it a different plugin.

Basically, try to choose the correct ID string when starting a plugin, and then never change it, or you might end up breaking lots of projects. Since the only public version is broken, I guess now is a good time to set it to "Hash" or whatever :)

  • Oops, on further inspection it looks like an oversight in the SDK. 'singleglobal' objects can't have properties right now. You'll have to work around it with actions to set the settings.

BTW I think MD5 is better described as a hash than encryption - I think encryption is supposed to be reversible.

  • If you start the variable on 0 or 1 it will initially work. With the text value it start on "test" and relies on a 'compare opacity' condition to set it to "in" or "out".

  • Have you got the latest graphics drivers? The Radeon HD cards seem to be really fussy about running Construct 2.
