  • This line looks wrong:

    cr.plugins_.blackberry10.prototype.exps.PaymentError = ...

Why not just assign to _this.paymentError or just a paymentError variable in the closure scope? (Everything should be wrapped in a big function that is called on startup, so you can put variables outside of functions and they're closure scoped, not global.)

As it stands, it looks like you're overwriting the function that is called for the PaymentError expression with something else.

  • ArcadEd - you can already save and load!

  • This is by design.

  • Whenever this problem has been reported in the past, it's always been a graphics card driver crash. Make sure your drivers are up to date.

  • Try pressing 'Reset dialogs' in Preferences. We can't fix this without exact steps to reproduce the problem every time. What did you do exactly?

  • Sorry, I missed this thread at first. The original code sample you gave is fine, you'd just make an expression to return the value of this.callbackArgs and just document that the expression can only be used in the trigger event. I'd recommend using separate variables instead of just one callbackArgs though, so you don't get confused between the error/success event data.

Edit: for another example see other plugins like AJAX or Array - AJAX saves the received data ("last data") then fires a trigger, and has an expression to get the last data. Array has some expressions to get variables at given indices in the array.

  • Which browsers have you tried? Are they different?

Rendering is done by the GPU, so it should have no problem reaching 60 FPS on a high end system. Perhaps check your graphics drivers are all up to date, and make sure WebGL is available and enabled.

  • Oops, looks like the parallax expressions were missed by accident. I'll try to add them to the next build.

  • The Javascript SDK would be best suited for that.

  • I think the event would be small for a first run. Even if people would fly over/travel for something more significant, I don't think we can jump in to some kind of convention-size event right away because of the organisational effort involved, and possibly risk (we don't know if this type of event works yet).

Also only 16 yes votes so far, and I guess about half of those would be busy/unavailable for any particular date we pick... so it could be pretty small! Still, got to start somewhere, and maybe we can figure out a way to grow it. Running it during Eurogamer sounds like a good idea too (26-29 sept) and if we arrange something I'll try to put it together with several week's notice so everyone can book themselves.

Not sure a live stream would work for a simple pub meet, since people would just be milling around talking to random people I guess, not much to watch. However if we arranged some demos or talks maybe that would be interesting to others?

Setting up a meetup forum is a nice idea, I'll see if we can put something together.

    Hi all,

I've been thinking of putting a small event together as an experiment. It would just be something like heading to a pub in London to have an informal chat and a few drinks. I think it would be a nice change to forums and emails to actually meet in person!

Some ideas if this went ahead: meeting/mixing with other C2 users; us finding out about how people really use C2 and what any common pain points are; sharing our perspective/ideas on anything that interests us; talk about startups/business; just socialise and maybe have a fun night!

I know the majority of you in the community are not based in London, or even the UK! However for in-person meetups we have to consider distance, and we are based in London, so perhaps at least a few of you might be here. So this poll is to gauge interest and see how many people potentially could come. We're also aware that a pub might be unsuitable for some people e.g. for cultural reasons, but in London it's a pretty normal thing to do and is easy to organise so we're going with that for the time being.

Vote above to show your interest and we'll think about if this looks like something we can arrange.

  • GeometriX - the engine does not check collisions for any objects at all, unless you use an 'On collision' or 'Is overlapping' object testing an object, or if you use a behavior which does automatic collision checking (e.g. Platform).

  • Global variables aren't shown because I forgot about them! Oops, will try to add in the next beta :)

Kurz - the "poly check/sec" is the number of actual collision polygon intersection tests that have been done. Usually the vast majority of collision checks can be immediately determined to be not overlapping since the object's bounding boxes do not overlap. This simple rectangle check involves a tiny amount of simple code, and is incredibly fast - you can easily have hundreds of them per tick and still get good performance. However if the object bounding boxes are overlapping, the engine then has to actually inspect the collision polygon lines, which is a bit slower (it currently has to check each line in the polygon, so slows down with more poly points). So basically it tells you how many collision checks are the full and slower check. Usually it's considerably less. For example the Ghost Shooter rain demo does about 140 collision checks per tick, but only 3-5 poly checks per tick - again a small enough number to barely impact performance at all. If poly checks read 100/tick, that might be cause for concern.
