  • Preview don't work properly, say's there's nothing to preview. Also is there a quote button when editing? I know there's one to quote an entire post but not one when editing. :)

  • Try Construct 3

  • Don't you think you're overreacting just a bit?

Thought this was a discussion forum, and feedback was wanted?

    Correct me if I'm wrong.

No you don't have to sign up to Gravatar if you don't want to, it's not a requirement. If you want an avatar, use it, if you don't, then don't worry about it!

Yeah, it was obvious that an avatar wasn't required to use the forums.

Clearly I meant that if a user wants an avatar on this forum, we have to use gravatar.

Like I said, no problem with the colour scheme, or the design.

    It's just that bloody font! <img src="smileys/smiley7.gif" border="0" align="middle" /> <img src="smileys/smiley18.gif" border="0" align="middle" /> <img src="smileys/smiley17.gif" border="0" align="middle" />

    Krush.

    Edit: I would mention the implementation of a reputation feature, but I won't for 2 reasons: 1) Although people have mentioned it, I can't see it, lol. 2) I wouldn't want to upset Lucid. <img src="smileys/smiley36.gif" border="0" align="middle" />

it is a discussion forum, that's why I'm discussing my opinion of your opinion, also, I wasn't upset. just being as candid with my reaction to you as you were to your reaction to the site.

it just honestly seemed like an overreaction....maybe I misread your tone...but to me it came off like this:

om: hey kids, how do you like my new haircut?<img src="smileys/smiley17.gif" border="0" align="middle" />

    rush: I don't even know who you are anymore!<img src="smileys/smiley19.gif" border="0" align="middle" /> edited><editID>lucid</editID><editDate>2011-06-28 04:53:38</editDate></edited>

  • My favorite Star Trek Quote:

    Alien: What is it?

    Scotty:<font color=green>Its green</font>

  • Can't see any problem. On the contrary the site is much better designed, more features, and the rep points is an incentive for the construct community to start creating content, helping others etc. Of course there's many bugs but it's natural. It's a childish overreaction imo. Sorry couldn't hold myself . The Logo must be worked on though. Does the forum engine supports skins ? It could solve the design preference problems :D

  • What happen to the button for PM? Where is my personnal message? Did you guy deleted them? You should at least let us choose and given the opinion to see what most people think of it <img src="smileys/smiley19.gif" border="0" alt="Cry" title="Cry" />, to me this place is no longer the old construct forum...very sad.

PM's are now online, at the top in the header. Whatever page you are on in the site you will get a notification icon if you receive one.

    beautifull <img src="smileys/smiley36.gif" border="0" align="middle" />

  • I really don't know what to think of this place anymore, lol.

Well, having already said that I like the colour scheme and the overall design, and that the font was the biggest problem for me, I thought it was obvious that I was saying that it went from professional looking, to something that looks like a high school project.

The font would go a long way to fixing that, but I didn't realise that I had to spell it out.

But hilarious anecdote anyway (despite the fact that I'm in my 40s, and my parents are heading towards 80 <img src="smileys/smiley36.gif" border="0" align="middle" /> )

And as for Gravatar, yes I was being a bit tongue-in-cheek.

    I have Spam Catcher Email accounts for just such sign-ups, so it's not a problem. <img src="smileys/smiley2.gif" border="0" align="middle" />

Remember, sense of humour needn't be left at the door (unless it's as poor as your anecdote, in which case, please do <img src="smileys/smiley36.gif" border="0" align="middle" /> )

    Krush.

  • I dont mind it at all folks. I just have no clue how to give myself a groovy Avatar.

Go to gravatar.com, create an account using the same Email address you use for this forum, upload your avatar to their site, and Bob's your Auntie's friendliest neighbour. :)

Then, when this forum loads a thread, it will check gravatar.com for matching Email addresses and display them accordingly.

I've always been a huge advocate of gravatar.com (see a couple of posts back, lol)

    Krush.

  • Overall I'm quite fond of the new design. It's definitely a more professional appearance for Scirra and will help making Construct more popular in the long run.

However, I do agree with Krush on this bit:

The style and size of the font just looks amateurish, and I have to scroll out 2 levels in Firefox just to get the forum looking decent enough to read.

The font used for displaying post content is way too big in my opinion. I also actually zoom out when I'm trying to read stuff on the forum. Sounds like a minor hiccup, but it affects usability in a big way.

Another thing that isn't optimal: when you click on reply while you aren't logged in, you'll get an error message stating that you don't have the permission to post. Would be much better if it forwarded you to the login site, like it did before.

Oh, don't know if it has been discussed before, but it appears previewing a post doesn't work yet? I'm just getting a window with a "There is nothing to preview yet" message.

  • I think the color you used for the logo would look nice for a background.

    actualy - neither do i <img src="smileys/smiley36.gif" border="0" align="middle" />

Seconded. The site is very bright now, a darker shade for the background would be easier on the eyes in the long run.
