What the HELL...

  • All I really miss is the "recent posts" section that used to be on the main page. Any way that could be re-implemented?

  • Tokinsom, yes, I'll add it to the to do list!

  • If i could suggetst something ( as a web designer which is may part time job ) I would change the colors as atm it looks very clinical ( like medical clinic website ). I would use different font and made is smaller because the truth is smaller fonts are asier to read.. And use some other font ( maybe custom one) for headers. In regards to the layout I've got no suggestions as it looks ok it's just obviues that it is a template or made with some  generator... ( I'm looking at the footer ) yes, it's generator.

  • Hi Megatronix,<div>

    </div><div>All the site, CSS/Layout/Design/Code (except forum) is 100% written by us and not a template <img src="smileys/smiley1.gif" border="0" alt="Smile" title="Smile" /></div><div>

</div><div>In regards to colouring we did consult some long term users and we all did eventually settle on this scheme and design.</div><div>

</div><div>I agree with you on smaller font, I like the font size in the topics, but out of it on the viewing forums pages the font is too big.  I'm going to change that soon.</div>

  • I think they should be smaller on the forum too.

  • Hmm, I have to say I'm not a fan of the new look.

The colour scheme looks fine, as any Colour Wheel would no doubt show, but it's the state of the font that's getting me down.

The style and size of the font just looks amateurish, and I have to scroll out 2 levels in Firefox just to get the forum looking decent enough to read.

I would have preferred you guys working on C2 rather than on something which could easily have waited 12 months.

A corporate identity is obviously important, but it has to look professional.

And there really wasn't any reason why the old look couldn't have stood until you were ready to release both C2 and the new look.

    Still, it's your baby.

    Krush.

  • Krush,<div>

</div><div>I'm not directly involved at the moment with C2 development, so me making the website is no hinderance to Construct 2's progress in any way <img src="smileys/smiley1.gif" border="0" alt="Smile" title="Smile" /></div><div>

</div><div>We're still tweaking the look so bear with us, I'm very happy with how all the other pages on the site look overall though (still need small tweaks).</div><div>

  • <div id="swiffout"></div>you can set avatar images at gravatar.com

What, we have to sign up to another site just so we can have an avatar on here?

    Really?

Yeah, it's just one site, and you can use that avatar on other sites, but why should anyone have to?

    Am I missing something here?

    These are improvements?

I really don't know what to think of this place anymore, lol.

    Krush.

  • Krush,<div>

</div><div>No you don't have to sign up to Gravatar if you don't want to, it's not a requirement. If you want an avatar, use it, if you don't, then don't worry about it!</div><div>

</div><div>It is an improvement from our point of view as:</div><div> - We can filter out xrated avatars, currently the site is set to accept PG rated only</div><div> - We improve page loading times as the images are located on other serves</div><div> - We drastically reduce our bandwidth usage</div><div> - It has a decent API which makes menial tasks really easy</div><div>

</div><div>So there are lots of benefits, but again, having an avatar is not a requirement to use the site so if you aren't comfortable using Gravatar you are not required to do so.</div><div>

    </div><div>Tom</div>

  • I really don't know what to think of this place anymore, lol.

    Really?

Don't you think you're overreacting just a bit?

I mean...I really don't see what the big fuss is about. It's a new site. You would swear they were charging microtransactions for posting img's the way everyones all up in arms about it

    <div id="swiffout"></div>

  • I think this light green background should change to something else.. it's killing my eyes.. =(

<DIV>I loved the first forum layout.. AND I think this new one have some potential.. but some things related to visuals need to be changed ..</DIV>

  • I agree about the light green diagonally striped background. Doesn't hurt my eyes, but it could be at least 20% cooler with another color

  • The problem is that everything is too bright in the layout..

<DIV></DIV>I think that making this white bg for the messages a little darker would be better and also the background, change to another color or a different darker green.. with gradient maybe..

  • put me on a stick but i actualy love new layout :)

now the website and the forums looks more... "serious", if you catch my drift.

the old style was shouting "me and my buddy are making programs in our garage".

This new one when being a bit corporate and mainstream is also very elegant, readable and organised.

  • The layout is fine, although I'm not a big fan of pale green.
