  • Man, that's dirty tactics by the marketing team... still, my 8800 GT is absolutely amazing, and will keep me happy for a few years yet...

Yeah your GT seems to be slightly better in every aspect compared to the 8800 GS

  • Motion blur isn't working correctly on my card. Not sure how to describe what it's doing, but it worked fine on my Geforce MX420.

    Current card:

    NVIDIA GeForce 6200

    Pixel shader: 3

    Estimated VRAM: 376 MB

    Motion Blur: Yes

  • Would have edited my previous post, but it won't let me. Thought I should at least try to describe it.

One thing that it does is display some of whatever was previously using motion blur. So if I run one app with motion blur, then another, the motion blurred frames from the first app that I ran show up when first running the next one.

The other thing - aside from looking blurrier than usual - is a weird 'vertical interlacing'.

  • I gather from this thread some video cards are fibbing about whether or not they support motion blur. It might be it really doesn't, but the marketing team got there first.

  • Woaaah!! They must run a bitch!! Have you played any late games like crysis under them? Know the fps on a newish game?

  • Woaaah!! They must run a bitch!! Have you played any late games like crysis under them? Know the fps on a newish game?

Yeah, Crysis still runs a bit bad though... it's because that game is programmed like crap.

Not to get off topic here, but here are some framerates I get on various things, running DX10 in Vista Home Premium:

    Crysis

    Medium Detail - 100-130+ fps

    High Detail - 50-70+ fps

Very High Detail - 20-40+ fps

    Assassins Creed

Very High Detail - 170-230+ fps

    Racedriver GRID

Very High Detail - 120-150+ fps

    Mass Effect

Very High Detail - 150-200+ fps

    3D Mark 06

Return to Proxycon - rough average fps 50-60

    Cellfactor

Very High Detail (motion blur on) - 20-30 fps

Very high Detail (motion blur off) - 60 fps constant (capped)

And don't bother with cloth dynamics, I got like 1 fps lol.

  • Soldjah oh what I would give to have a comp like yours.. mine can only play world of warcraft at 25 fps max on all low settings, about to get warhammer which it could BARELY run at 10-15 fps on low settings. gosh how do I play a game with such low framerate?

    Anyway my specs:

Device name: Mobile Intel(R) 965 Express Chipset Family

    Pixel shader: 3

    Estimated VRAM: 358 MB

    Motion blur: Yes

  • I hate when people are like zomg for crysis graphics and how "realistic" they look. I dont understand that theres nothin so uberness in graphcis and its not even looking too realistic that game just takes so much power cuz its badly programmed or so. i think race driver GRID looks a lot more cooler and more realistic even its car game. Theres just some nice shadows in crysis...

  • And Soldjah wait till i get my nvidia killers-.- 2X 4870X2 hihihihiihi

  • And Soldjah wait till i get my nvidia killers-.- 2X 4870X2 hihihihiihi

The 4870x2 is only a tiny bit faster than one of my single GPU gtx280's... and it runs like 5 times the temperature. I really like ATI, but the fact you an cook an egg on your video card when it not even doing anything, or boil salt saturated water on it easily when it's pumping hard... kinda turned me off the 4870x2's. I'm pretty happy with my frame rates (as posted up there somewhere ^ ).

Oh and, Crysis looks like crap I agree... I only use it as a benchmark because NOBODY can run it very well at all (unless you have an extreme editon CPU overclocked to the hills, DDR3 2000Mhz RAM, and possibly a third GTX280 or similar card).
