My long-time passion project, "Adventures of Caine McDowell" is coming to Steam soon! The plan is to have it fully built, polished, and released by March of next year, so if you're interested in an action-packed, puzzle-filled, sci-fi adventure, make sure to wishlist it on Steam today!

Thank you and can't wait to see you among the stars!

  • The game looks very flat. Normally you want to soften or lighten background elements like the water and islands so they don't visually clash with the foreground and confuse the player.

  • Thanks for the critique!

Yeah the flat look is what the artist was going for as in style in terms of art and level design and it works for the game play. It looks better with everything in motion.

Yes I agree with you that the BG colors should be a bit less saturated and clash less with the foreground.

The Bottom screen I didn't account for that at all to be honest. Good eye!

  • Audio-Reactive Twin-Stick Shooter in a Zelda-Inspired World

    Hello everyone,

I'm currently working on an unusual project that combines classic action-adventure elements with a bullet-heaven twin-stick shooter.

What makes it unique is that the game world consists mostly of static, minimalist visuals. Instead of relying on traditional animations, I'm trying to convey movement, dynamism, and atmosphere primarily through music and audio effects. The world itself reacts directly to the soundscape, creating a distinctive audiovisual experience.

    Planned Features

    Bullet-heaven gameplay with twin-stick controls

    Multiple weapons with different playstyles

Elemental system with unique properties and effects

    A variety of enemy types

    Mini-bosses and bosses

5 distinct biomes with their own color palettes and visual details

Switch, key, and exploration mechanics inspired by classic action-adventure games

    Permanent upgrades and unlockable abilities

    Unlockable Abilities

Throughout the game, players can discover permanent abilities that open new paths and expand exploration, including:

    Destroying specific walls

    Teleporting behind narrow obstacles

A time-warp ability that slows down the flow of gameplay

My goal is to combine the accessibility and excitement of a bullet-heaven shooter with the sense of discovery and progression found in classic Zelda-style adventures, while making music a core part of the overall experience.

I'd love to hear your feedback, ideas, and suggestions. I'll be sharing screenshots and development updates here as the project progresses.

I’m working on a cartoony tank physics action game. The game has waves of enemies. When you beat all the enemies in a wave, you get to pick one of three upgrades (a mechanic borrowed from roguelike games). At the end of the fifth wave, there’s a boss. You can also upgrade your tank between battles (meta-gameplay).

The game is in active development.
