Why are my sound effects being cut off?

Grenade Sound Library contains: 135 sounds 50 grenade sounds and 85 surface sounds
  • I put sound effects in my game and all the (short) sound effects are noticeably cut off at the start. However, if the same sound effect is played in quick succession, it will only be cut off the first time it plays, and the rest of the instances will be played in their entirety.

    I tried pre-loading the sfx and that didn't work.

    Maybe it's a problem with my computer and not with Construct itself? I say this because, when playing the raw sound effect file in my PC's file folder, the first time Media Player plays it, it's also cut off, but the next time I play it, the sound is played in its entirety.

    I hope I explained this right. Thanks in advance.

  • Hi, turns out it was probably my machine, because it fixed itself the next time I booted it up.

  • Ah, well, no, it's back. I assume it's still a me problem but if anyone can help me out it'd be of great help.

  • Well try checking whether that sound effect is even working, try redownloading it again to see if the same problem occurs.

    If it does try downloading another random sound effect and the try it on your Media Player, if it still proceeds to not work it will be confirmed that either you Media Player isn't working correctly, or that your PC is having issues.

  • Also try restarting your PC to see whether this may help.

    Note: I do not mean factory reset!
