The underworld has released another villain who is more menacing than ever before!
  • Hi, I got this message when trying to load an game file i created a few years ago.

I really want to load this, and fix this, but i don't know how to do this -- how do i even load the file so i can remove the add on or replace it with supported one.

    thank you,

    Dan

The project you are opening uses the following addons that are not installed. Try installing these missing plugins, behaviors and effects and then re-open the project.

Plugin Text editor (RobotKaposzta_TextEditor) by Henrik Szűcs (legacy SDK v1)

Note: legacy (SDK v1) addons are no longer supported in this release of Construct and so cannot be installed. The last release that supports legacy addons is the r449 LTS release. See the LTS releases page, or contact the addon developer for an updated version of the addon.

  • Hi. Open the LTS version of the editor via this link.

    editor.construct.net/r449-4

This version has long-term support through the end of 2026.

    Delete your plugin and save.

You will then be able to open the project in newer versions.

Or contact the plugin developer and ask them to update the version to v2.

  • Thank you. this worked opening the file, but in the end it didnt open since the newly opened C3 editor doesnt have the plugin

Now, the text editor doesnt exist anymore in the plugin store.

Without the text editor plugin in can't open the file either ...

Is there a way to open the file without the plugin, and then remove it. Or remove it in the source, somehow?

    thank you

    Dan

  • Try Construct 3

Develop games in your browser. Powerful, performant & highly capable.

Try Now Construct 3 users don't see these ads
  • If you never include this plugin packaging option in your projects, then you'll need to search for this plugin online.

    construct.net/en/forum/construct-3/how-do-i-8/solved-fix-mysterious-tile-188262

Perhaps one of your colleagues on the forum has such a plugin.

  • I had it in an ealier installation but now i reinstalled the computer and its gone ...

Is it possible to remove it from the zipped program file?

Personally, i think it should be possible to open a C3 file into the editor even if a plugin is missing -- and have a way to disable the plugin.

Does anyone have the old plugin?

  • i asked cursor to remove the plugin from the uncompressed c3 file and recompress it -- now it opened up ... glad it worked!

i think this should really be a feature built into the product
