  • I have a small bug that is a bit annoying.

When I popup the timeline on a second screen. The timeline keyboard shortcuts remain active and when I need to write something on the other screen, especially the E key.

Can you file the issue in our bug tracker? It's better to submit problems over there since we look at it pretty often. Reports in the forums are more likely to get lost under new messages.

  • 🎉 A huge thank you to the Construct 3 team! 🎉

I just wanted to take a moment to sincerely thank the developers of Construct 3 for adding support for dual screen setups and window positioning! 🙌

This is a feature I’ve been waiting for, and it truly makes a big difference in terms of comfort and productivity. Being able to organize the workspace freely and spread windows across multiple screens is a real game changer — especially during long development sessions!

Kudos to you for listening to the community and continuing to improve Construct 3 in the right direction. It’s these kinds of small (but big!) improvements that really matter in everyday use.

Thanks again to the whole team! 💙

  • Glad to hear the new changes are working well for you!

  • Hi everyone,

Since the latest R440 update, I'm experiencing an issue with window management, particularly when using a dual-monitor setup.

I'm using the standalone Construct 3 desktop app, not the browser version — but I've tested both, and the issue occurs in both cases.

In Google Chrome, window size and position (including the debugger) are saved correctly, which is great. However, the dual-screen feature no longer seems to work, even though it's enabled in the Construct 3 settings.

What’s odd is that everything worked fine in the previous beta version, but after switching to the stable release, it stopped working.

Do you think this is an issue with Construct 3, Windows, or possibly Google Chrome?

Has anyone else experienced this or found a workaround?

Thanks in advance for any help!

It's not clear exactly what you mean by "the dual-screen feature". Can you explain that in more detail? Construct didn't really have any specific dual-screen features prior to the latest stable release, other than the ability to open popup windows for some editor bars and move them to another display. The only thing that changed in the latest stable release is now it can remember the window positions across multiple displays (providing you enable the window management permission), and Construct will now also attempt to automatically open popup windows on startup for the editor and debugger.

  • Sorry, my previous message wasn't very clear.

    I’m using a dual-monitor setup:

The right screen is my main display,

The left screen is my secondary display.

What I want to do is run my game in fullscreen (or windowed mode) on the right screen, and have the debugger open in fullscreen on the left screen.

The issue is that when I launch the debugger—whether in scene view or project view—all windows get moved back to the main display (the right screen).

So basically, Construct seems to remember window positions on the main screen just fine, but not on the secondary screen.

For context, I’m not using any third-party screen management software, just Windows 11.

  • After some testing, I’ve identified the source of an issue I’m experiencing with multi-monitor support in Construct 3.

    My setup:

My main monitor is on the right side, in landscape orientation.

My secondary monitor is on the left, in portrait mode (which is more convenient for displaying the debugger).

    Observed behavior:

In this configuration, Construct 3 does not remember the position of the windows correctly. Both the game preview and the debugger always open on the main screen (right), even if I manually move them to the left screen.

    What works:

If I swap the monitors (make the left monitor the main one), then Construct 3 behaves as expected:

The debugger can be detached and stays on the vertical screen.

Window positions are correctly remembered between sessions.

    Conclusion:

It seems there’s a bug or limitation related to window position handling when the main screen is on the right, and the secondary screen (in portrait mode) is on the left. This prevents Construct 3 from correctly restoring the layout across sessions.

I hope this information helps in identifying and resolving the issue. I’m happy to provide more technical details or screenshots of my setup if needed.

    Thanks!

  • Mine also does not remember the window location or debugger when I move them to my secondary monitor, in my case is on the left. It always opens on the main display.

  • Same here - 2 landscape monitors on Windows 11. All screens always open in the main display regardless of where they were when they were closed.

  • Same here. My second display is on the left and smaller than the main one.

  • Thanks for your feedback!

It’s reassuring to know I’m not the only one experiencing this.

The dual monitor feature doesn’t seem to be working properly at the moment.

Construct 3 does remember window positions, but only on a single screen. As soon as a second monitor is involved (e.g., when detaching the debugger), the window positions are no longer restored correctly on restart.

I hope the development team will be able to fix this issue in a future update.

Did you submit a bug report?

  • > Did you submit a bug report?

    Hello,

No, I haven’t submitted a bug report yet because I’m not exactly sure how to do it.

I believe it has to be done through GitHub, but I’m not completely certain.

Since GitHub is in English and I’m not very comfortable with the language (Google Translate isn’t always enough), it makes the process a bit difficult for me.

It’s a shame there isn’t a simpler option, like a Google Form, which would be easier to use and available in all languages. That would really help users like me report bugs more easily.

Still, I’ll try to look into it and report the issue properly.

    Thanks for your understanding!

  • Bug report submitted!

I took some time to figure out how GitHub works, and with a little help from AI, I was able to complete the bug report properly.

I hope it’s clear enough and well written so it can be properly considered. 🤞
