How to apply forces with the mouse?

Heya, I'm trying to figure out how to use the mouse to apply forces to objects. For example, if I were to drag an object with the mouse and jerk the cursor across the screen, then releasing the mouse button, causing the object to fly across the screen.

Any help is appreciated. :p

Here is an example, but it may not be suited for your purpose because Physics is disabled during dragging. Which means that the object will not collide with other physics objects while you drag it.
