I never actually played that game when it came out (it was before my time ) though I did try to play it recently but I didn't like it very much, I'm more a fan of the acrobatic portion of the genre (Prince of Persia and Oddworld) than the more narrative focused titles, or maybe the novelty has worn off, I don't know honestly. I did enjoy watching a let's play of it though and the lack of spoken words or dialogue intrigued me.
Thank you for the nice comment about the animations, it's very motivating.
I'm working on a new enemy type. Here's a quick screenshot of how it's going to look like when idle.
Nicely done elias, looking forward to a demo.
Develop games in your browser. Powerful, performant & highly capable.
Thank you Genki
A little update, first animation is finished:
Okayyyyy! the animations are so SWEET and fluent
Here's the new enemy in action, enemies now also drop items when killed.
This looks just amazing! It's one of the most promising titles I've seen so far in this forum. The amount of work you put into the animation catches the eye immediately. I like your approach to add realism by prohibiting movement cancellation during animations. That's one of the points that make one feel to play a realistic character of flesh and blood. The guess-what-your-opponent-will-do-by-his-bodylanguage scheme sounds interesting. Was this featured before or is it your idea?
Thank you very much Liquidmietal! The combat system is heavily influenced by Blackthorn. You should try it! Blizzard hosts it for free on their store page.
Gorgeous animations - do I detect the movements of a certain David Mechner?
Will pay attention with interest
eliasfrost Somehow I managed to miss Blackthorne... Thank you for the recommendation. I will look into it.
Do you already have a story idea for "Razzia"?
Elliott Thank you! The running jump is loosely referenced from the running jump in Prince of Persia. I guess you could see it as an homage.
liquidmetal It's a really good game, though it has some of that 'old-school' quirk to it that can get a bit annoying at times.
I have a story for the game but I don't want to disclose any of that at this time, I'm currently focusing on the getting the gameplay ready, features implemented and such. Once I'm ready to make a proper announcement I will reveal the themes and the basic story. Stay tuned.
eliasfrost Are you going to release it commercially?
liquidmetal That's the plan, yes.
eliasfrost Thats good since from what I see this game will be a hit!
By the way: I'm unable to see the gif you loaded up on Wed Jul 15, 2015 9:18 pm. Tried firefox and opera. Seems to be something wrong with it.
