  • Bartosh: It's pseudo 3D :) but the feeling of battle is very much alike the real deal. Its just a game for a contest so it should show how real natural selection 2 is like and should explain how celerity shade etc. works. That is my gol.

Minoterrae: i manage to do layers but enemys movement is random in some

point and it's hard to make it right :). I will add obstacles/entitys to.

  • Heres a construct 2 game I have been working on for a few weeks:

It's a randomly generated rougue (ish) romp....with kinda ooky perspective...but I think it works, just about...

Hoping to get a demo up on the arcade, soon

Edit...If my pics have disappeared again..it's my dropbox throwing a wobbler

  • Looking good Ben!

I'm roughing out one of the first levels for the Dungeon Buster demo:

  • Wrangler your game has the same ooky perspective as mine...I wasn't 100% sure if it worked visually, but yours has convinced me it does,Dungeon buster is looking mighty fine there!

  • yeah it's a very strange perspective to work with. I wasn't sure about it at all when I first started, but it's the only perspective choice that makes sense for this type of game. Care to show anything you've been working on?

  • Here is my current build of scramble.

Level 1 is almost complete. I need to do a bit of polish on it and then it is done.

Scramble is the first game I had for my Colour Genie microcomputer which I purchased in 1983. 48k of RAM. :)

  • czar, Cool shot , I like the Frank Zappa avatar too 8)

Scramble was the very first arcade game I adopted as my favorite. Later Stern made Cobra but I did not find it quite as playable.

I never played it on a console.

Here is what I am working on:

A tile set creation tool to celebrate the awesome new tower defense behaviour Ashley made for us.

It lets you make seamless tile sets for hallways and paths. Can work for any game but they are really needed for tower defense games.

I am also going to make a save and load feature, and I want to have it dump the matrix to a text file or .json so people can use it to edit their own levels. Will be complete with lighting, and some simple bots that follow the paths so people can visualize gameplay while they work.

  • jojoe cheers, you are in the minority if you recognize Frank Zappa. +1 like :)

It will be interesting to see what you do with the tower defense concept. Keep us posted.

  • jojoe

So how is pathing going to work with that?

Will it be possible to group similar tiles into groups and adapt certain collision points to all of them?

I'm not sure this is possible yet, but it would be great if there was a way to let pathfinders detect a certain colour range and class all pixels matching the colour range to solid.

  • Blinx123

    Hi there :)

I am not planning on using collision for the AI's guidance, just going to use image points from each frame as path nodes.

I am done with the menu and the drawing part, I am just working on the finer points right now to package it up.

  • pixel perfick, new here... I like your artwork, it has a very uniqueness about it. I like the fine detail, especially the skulls on the floor, and the quirky Knight. Are you going to add more screenshots of your work?
