Post screenshots of what you're working on!!

  • Been experimenting more with faking a 3D look. No third party plugins, just vanilla C2.

Yeeees, Fake 3D! Are you planning on making a full project out of these experiments?

I also played around with Fake 3D the other week, although using a different method.

That's pretty neat! How's it working performance wise?

  • purplemonkey I probably will use this for something small once I wrap Pepper Grinder, yeah.

And wow, that approach looks awesome! The sense of depth is really effective.

tunepunk Performance is perfect so far, no dips or anything. I haven't thrown much at it yet, though.

  • I love plain C2 and how users push the limitation further to show something beyond.

  • Ech

Truly lovely.. is it just layers & parallax ?

  • 1vs1 shooting game i currently working on .

Any ideas on what else to add?

Wow that's great, you guys know if here in the website exist some tutorial to achieve this (fake 3d)?

and this is my game i'm learning how to use c2 so its a really simple game like flappy bird with some extra mechanics.

I like the look of what you have now I'm not even sure the "fake 3D" look would improve your game. Although you could try actual 3D using the Q3D plugin, I think it would work well especially for this type of game. I can't fully recommend Q3D plugin in good conscience without prefacing that the creator of this plugin has stopped developing/supporting the plugin (at least for now?). Still, I found it enjoyable and easy enough to use!

  • Here's a playable web build of my pseudo 3D thing if anyone is interested in seeing it in person: https://riv-hester.itch.io/glimmerhead? ... zhsbgRaqhA

spongehammer Just one layer. For the walls I've got a stack of tilemaps having their position offset in a direction relative to the layer rotation. Everything else is sprites being z sorted.

Ares7 Not that I know of, but I'd like to get around to writing one at some point. There seems to be enough interest on twitter alone.

This blog post does explain the basic concept pretty well though even if it's for Game Maker: http://www.like100bears.com/writing/2d- ... ker-studio

The effect is really cool. I did a while ago the samething for cars but what about that cart? Did you use the same concept of stacking images? Looks really cool.
