  • greetings,

i have a problem with the sound in my game, my main menu has music when it plays i set it to -- system on start of layout play "music name" -- and it works -- it also has System on end of layout stop "music name"--.

my menu has 2 buttons a play button and controls menu, where the controls menu has a different song that plays.

when i go into the control menu the main menu's song continues to play instead of its own song and when i go back to the main menu the original song playing restarts. This also happens while going into the first level (which also has its own song) im new to Construct and i am unsure how to fix this

PS. sorry for big slab of text lol.

  • You play music by name, but stop it by tag. Make sure you have a tag on the music and use that to stop.

  • Plus, the best way to stop a background music is tagging it as "Music", so, always you want switch the background music, you'll be able by simple stopping the tag "Music" and starting another music immediately.

  • Try Construct 3

  • hi guys thanks for the reply,

i added tags to my songs (all different ones to fit the name of the song)

now when i load the game the main menu's music stops after i click controls menu or play, but then the next levels song doesn't play ?? and when i go back into the main menu the song plays again.

i opened up the first level to test if the music works and it did (but then again the other levels didn't work)

sorry about all the trouble im new to adding music in Construct.

    again thanks for the replies <img src="smileys/smiley1.gif" border="0" align="middle" />

  • Here is a sample of what I am currently using. This should be all that you need. Remember to tag all your background music the same. Hope this helps.
