  • Hi, hoping to find some help here,

I am previewing my game on my Samsung tablet and it is only running at around 2-3 frames per second.

On my computer it is 60.

I now my computer is much more powerful but 2-3 frames is snail pace.

It is not a big game just one sprite moving horizontal at bottom of screen and It is collecting sprites dropping down from top.

Even when I made it into and APK it was no better.

    Any ideas please.

    Cheers.

  • When previewing, use the debugger, check the profiling tab, and keep an eye on the thing that is taking up most % cpu usage.

  • Hi, lennaert, tried your suggestion and one by one turned off various parts of the game and eventually just left the player sprite and the left and right arrows to move the sprite. Speed only went up to around 8 fps.

I have also just tried a completely blank screen and that runs at only 25fps!

    On computer 60+ fps.

Is it the Samsung tab do you think!

  • Hmm, could you post a capx ?

    I wouldn't mind taking a look.

  • If by "Samsung tablet" you mean one of the original Galaxy Tab Series from 2010/2011:

yes, it won't get any better, unfortunately. Those are too weak for HTML5.

If it's something new like a Galaxy Tab 4, there may be a problem somewhere in your project, a capx would indeed help.

PS my tablet is a SAMSUNG Tab 4

  • Try removing the physics on the banana, and just use the bullet speed and acceleration to mimic what your doing now.

  • Try Construct 3

Develop games in your browser. Powerful, performant & highly capable.

Try Now Construct 3 users don't see these ads
  • Hi Lennaert, if this helps I have just downloaded an example capx from a tutorial which is a physics game called cannonball this also runs very slowly on my tab so I am thinking it is the tab not what I am creating.

Before I got the Samsung I had a HP tab which you would presume is not as good but I didn't have these problems.

  • It should run fine on a tab 4 yeah, even with physics ...

    Perhaps something faulty ?

  • you consider to rezise ur imagines when u have problems with samnsung or mobiles

sometimes the imagines sprites are to big and presents run slow

  • or use GPU, FPS, Render, etc .

to find the problems in slow frames

  • I decided to factory reset the tab and the banana game now runs at 15 fps!

    Better but not great!

  • It's the tablet itself and only the tablet. I'm pretty sure I have the same exact tablet and my games run very slowly on there too. You really shouldn't waste your time on this. People who have bought the tablet and used it for gaming or for any other reasons have probably given up on it and moved to something greater. It's a sucky tablet, simple as that.
