  • 1. I use Construct 2

    2. I use Construct 3

    3. Want Construct 3 but is not willing to pay for a subscription.

  • i never use c3... c2 for life but sadly i stop use it an move to other software

  • I am category 4

Have Construct 3 subscription, but have not used it for a single game yet. Keep using Construct 2

Why? I guess I have too many games at 50 - 90% done in Construct 2 and want to finish them where they were started. So far I've only used version 3 to test some exports.

  • 1. Construct 2

Due to subscription costs, but more importantly lack of plug in support.

Almost none of my existing projects will open in C3

  • Use C2.

I have no plan to move to C3 because if you do not pay you do not have permission to edit your projects, I will use another engine.

Another issue, the message is in the forum of C2, it is possible that many users of C3 do not see this and do not participate.

    This.

And I also use C2 because of C3's yearly fee. I really don't see any good advantages over C2. Except maybe some export options like mentioned, which I don't use any way since I don't make apps.

You will have to pry my C2 license from my dead cold hands!

  • In addition, C2 users can be a bit annoyed that the conditions of C3 and its acquisition mode do not change.

I do see great changes that push me towards C3 but the handicap I said before is still stronger.

C3 users are happy, I do not think they participate in the survey.

  • I own a C2 license on which i'm working for a very specific project, a dialogue tool, so that C2 and C3 users can incorporate it in their own project.

However I definitely intend to get my subscription to Construct 3. There are more and more interesting features. Text effects, new debugger, new functions, new behaviors, Timelines... As someone said : It feels like a new software at every new features. That's worth a subscription.

  • ill "buy" C3, when it will have proper inhouse exporter for PC and all rex addons and similar addons in vanilla or available as plugins.

So never... Ill probably make one more project, and then move to Unity. Unity has subscription as well, beside the free version. But thats a real engine, not some JS - HTML 5 engine that pretends its something else.

  • I absolutely love C2. Have been using it since early access and am currently working on a big project with it. I do intend on switching to C3 at some point for the export support among other advances but doesn't make much sense to do so while I am primarily working on graphics assets.

  • 1 and 3

lwgames Non-sense. How do you define "real engine"? Construct can allow people to do games - good games from what I saw until now. That's all a "real engine" is supposed to do. You prefer Unity to Construct : that's personnal.

    so not for life then?

  • Try Construct 3

Develop games in your browser. Powerful, performant & highly capable.

Try Now Construct 3 users don't see these ads
  • PiNkIe I think he mean't c2 for life as in never using c3 just c2 when coming to the two of these engines. Not meaning using this and only engine.

  • Use C3 now

Working on a big project that I started in C2, but after moving it to C3 and seeing all of the new features, I'd never go back

BBCode, solid collision filtering, new runtime, new behaviors... The tween behavior alone shaves off dozens of unnecessary events every time you use it as opposed to doing everything with variables like you had to do in C2
