They have said from day one that it's a one-off payment. If they change this policy it would generate far too much negative feedback so I seriously doubt they would do this, but lets call attention to Scirra and get their word on it.

What on earth made you think we're moving to a subscription model? We are not and have no plans to. I checked with Tom and we have not even made any new announcements and have not put up or taken down any pages recently.
Edit: yeah, we have a subscription model for educational institutes, but it's far far cheaper than per-machine licenses so it's a good deal. We have no plans to change the Personal or Business licenses.

By looking at the free 60 days and pricing model for monthly & annually I was shocked and posted up this topic without further reading
