The Layout order jumps after loading

  • Hi everyone,

    After reordering my levels and their event sheets, and saving them, whenever I load them again, the order gets mixed up.

    This is the correct sequence:

    <img src="https://www.dropbox.com/s/cplirfqn22rlou6/1.png" border="0" />

    dropbox.com/s/cplirfqn22rlou6/1.png

    After loading it becomes:

    <img src="https://www.dropbox.com/s/xhadm1lsma5mm7z/2.png" border="0" />

    dropbox.com/s/xhadm1lsma5mm7z/2.png

    Why doesn't it save the correct sequence? It is a pain to constantly rearrange them each time I open C2.

    Any help would be greatly appreciated.

  • It is really not a good idea to have every single Layout and Event Sheet open in the Editor.

    Thank you. All this time I thought that we had to have all our levels and even sheet open there. After your comment, I tested it out and understood better how C2's layout works.

    Thanks again!

  • I never have figured out how it chooses the tab order, it seems random, and even changes every so often. I just know it's not alphabetical.

    You can drag them around to change the order, and even drag them down to split the screen, showing more than one at a time.

    Haha ya, me too. I thought that I needed all the tabs to be there, so each time I open C2, I had to rearrange all of them. It does seem random doesn't it? All I know is that the first level I created will always be the first, the rest are like a box of chocolates....

  • +1

    Would also like some information in regards on how they're sorted.

  • Sorry, after a few loads, I noticed that even the first level I created also gets mixed up. So every tab moves around at random at each load.

    Agree, just want to understand how C2 views them to determine their order.

  • Same - an automatic save of tab order and tabs open would be great.

  • yea I agree this should be addressed.. i like having them all open. thus far i don't have more than usually 6-8 so i have plenty of room to have them all open is great! Having them load in the right order would be even better!

    Thanks,

    Caleb

  • Agreed. The first thing I do when I open my projects is rearrange the tabs how I like them.

  • I would also like to see the tabs keep the order I set, or at least have some sort of logical order to make it less messy.
