Moving characters

i want to move my character by dragging and dropping another object that indicate the suppose movement without using any controls. what I want to do is that when i dragged and dropped the icon of the right arrow, the character will move right and when i dragged and dropped the icon of the left arrow the character will move left(all three arrow(left)icon, arrow(right)icon and the character itself are spirtes)

Here is my example, I have variable for arrows and player, when I drop the coin on arrow, it will set the direction for player and he will simulate control by Platform behavior :
