Notes

The r476 release cycle was particularly long with many far-reaching changes, and so it's not too surprising that a few more issues have come up. We're releasing another stable patch release to correct a few more things that slipped through the net and weren't caught during the usual beta releases phase.

The fixes in this patch release include a couple of regressions since the previous stable release, a workaround for an apparent graphics driver bug affecting WebGPU on some Android devices, a fix for the new instance sampling property not saving with the project, and a couple of others. In case you missed them see the r476 release notes here.

  • Hi, first of all, Construct 3 is an amazing tool and you have done a great job overall.

However, the UI system feels very outdated and limited. Basic components like sliders, text inputs, and scrollable lists are not on par with modern standards and are difficult to work with compared to other engines.

What makes this more surprising is that Construct 3 is based on HTML technologies. In theory, this should make UI development easier, more flexible, and more powerful. There are already many advanced UI tools and patterns in the web world that are still missing here.

Right now, developers often need to build custom solutions from scratch or rely on workarounds, which slows development and limits quality.

It really feels like it is time for a serious upgrade of the UI system with modern, flexible, and easy to use components.

This could significantly improve the engine and make it even more competitive.

Would love to see this become a higher priority.
