Don't miss out on the latest and greatest new features in Construct 3

Notes

In this release we've made some adjustments for importing 3D models. Importing a model now defaults to flipping the Y axis to match Construct's Y-down convention which should be correct for most models. If you want something else you can now choose a separate 'Import with options' menu option. The culling mode has also been refined from just a back face culling option to supporting none, front/back faces, or respecting the culling specified by the 3D model.

Other improvements include a batch of bug fixes, including for a few regressions in the previous beta. In scripting and the SDK there are now helper methods for managing IMeshData normal buffer data, which is significant for an upcoming feature. Stay tuned for more!

  • This update seems to fix all my previous issues in 496 that broke my massive project!

EDIT: there is a huge performance regression though from 496, i need to pinpoint the specific cause to create a report. You guys just be on the lookout as well!

  • Seems to be major performance drop on my project in latest beta from 200fps down to 30fps. Will try and trace it, but was fine in r496 and before. (I don't use 3d models, only meshes)

Any idea on possible changes that could of effected meshes or editing mesh points? (to narrow it down)

  • Why is there no Line of sight in the behavior?
