The Official Introduce Yourself Thread

  • Hi,

I'm futuredude and new to Scirra, and a long time HTML5 and JavaScript developer with active interest in gaming. I downloaded the Construct2 software yesterday and created my first demo game. Amazing how easy it is to work with this software and produce excellent results. Expect to see me around here for a long while!

    Peace!

  • Hi,

    I'm new to Construct.

I work as a software developer in a little company.

I use Construct because it is really easy to make a little game. Because of my work I know how hard it is to make a game.

  • Hello guys!

After a somewhat long hiatus (I used Construct a couple of years ago for some personal projects and teaching purposes), I'm happy to be back and just got my C2 license. I'm very excited to see the progress done in these two years and I look forward to learning from you all and sharing my experiences!

    Cheers!

  • Hello!

While my day job is something else, the unused portions of my brain are always designing games. Board games, video games, card games.

I have very little to no programming experience (I am not counting the games I made on my Apple II+ (48k) using BASIC in the early 80's), but I am always on the lookout for programs that might help me turn my game ideas into reality.

And I have a 10-year-old son who has inherited all of this from me as well. So maybe he'll like Construct 2 too.

  • Hello Everyone.

My name is Ed Farias. I'm a network admin by day, and father/husband by night :). I own a company called Arcade-in-a-Box, and it's been over many transformations over the years. From early on building retro arcade style control panels, then custom arcade sticks for ps3/360 for fighting games.

I also opened up a game center/arcade where I restore classic arcade cabinets. I have a deep love for classic arcade titles from the 80s, so me an some friends created a web series on youtube called Retro Rumble. It's kind of a game show base on classic arcade games.

I have always had a desire to build my own games, and I have been programming since very young in basic, and then onto Visual Basic and not VB 2010. However, it't not a great gaming platform so I started messing with Gamemaker and rpg maker several years ago, but I never finished anything.

Something is different with Construct 2, and I love it.

Thanks for the amazing program and affordable prices.

  • Hi I'm Shilme :)

I have been interested in learning how to make games for a while now but never found something that worked for me (I really don't have time to learn how to go from ascii art to fancy graphics and thats how most basics tutorials look to me) but I found this and its super intuitive so I decided to join the community and get decent at making games.

I hope that I can make a super awsome frustrating fun platformer and thats what I am working on right now :)

  • <img src="smileys/smiley1.gif" border="0" align="middle" /> HALLO!

I've gone all over the place in programming!..... Maybe too many places...

    HTML|JS|CSS

    C++

    JAVA

    C

    C#

    AS3

    AS2

    ASP

    PHP

    .NET

    XML

    ....etc

BUT! Once I saw HTML5 with CSS3, I WAS BLOWN AWAY!

Then, after sighting this fancy tool.... #$@#$#@$ I GOT A LICENSE!

  • Hi everyone!

I've been here for a while, but now I'm finally got here to introduce myself <img src="smileys/smiley1.gif" border="0" align="middle" />.

I'm an university student in Hungary. I started game development about when I was 14 (with GameMaker 4.3). Then I had a .. well we can say a longer break in the game developing (I was mainly interested in webpage designs).

If I remember well, I was using GameMaker 7 when I saw the blog post on GameMakerBlog about Construct. I tested it and played around a little, but it didn't got me. It was later that I gave it an other try, and the opennes and freedom made me love it. I never developed anything serious with GM or Construct, but they made me love the game making process and today I believe I can make my game dreams come true even if I don't know programming.

I first tried Construct 2 in the early times. It's funny, the zooming effect on the layer editor made me love it. <img src="smileys/smiley36.gif" border="0" align="middle" /> Later I bought it as an early adopter (after some more testing).

Since then I tried GameMaker 8.1 and now the Studio, tested Stencyl, but they all missing something that Construct 2 has. I believe (other then the great software) it's the openness and freedome provided to the users (for example: I bought it and I'll have the future updates too, and I can install it as many times as I want on my PC, the Scirra Team is awesome, they are open and friendly to the community). As far as it stays that way, C2 will be always the best <img src="smileys/smiley1.gif" border="0" align="middle" />

    Thank your for reading.

  • My name is Pedro and this is the first message I write in the forum. <img src="smileys/smiley1.gif" border="0" align="middle" />

  • Hey, I gues it's about time. My name is Adam Prack, and this is my 100th post. I suppose it's as good a time as any to introduce myself. I started making games as a hobby on RPG Maker, though I had a heavy emphasis on fancy graphics so you probably would've never known I used RM. Then, I discovered Construct and have been hooked ever since.

I'm currently developing Blight using CC and have an alpha release on August 3rd. I'm so very grateful to have such a flexible, powerful tool to work with. Here's hoping sales go well! I have some preorders already, at least!

  • Hello, "Constructors". I started using this software recently. I'm realising how powerful and easy to use it is. It's great. I hope to enjoy creating interesting games as you do...
