  • So, I was wondering what methods or personal standards everyone has regarding how they set up their Event Sheets. Obviously, certain rules within C2 apply (like the flow in which every Event is checked per tick).

But when it comes to organization, how do you try to set things up?

    For example...

Do you try to keep things as condensed as possible? Do you organize related Events close together? Do you add comments to every Event or just the main ones?

    What're your Event Sheet habits?

  • Whooooaaaaa!!! *looks around...drools* :D

  • Arima & retrodude - NOTED. When me and my design partner are ready to export, we'll be paying more attention to that.

  • Magistross - Thank you, sir! I'll check it out later on (gots me a job interview to prepare for :) ).

  • shinkan - Yup! That'll work! Thank you, sir!

Magistross - That...kinda makes sense. I am not yet versed in using the Function events, so I'm going to have to study up on those. But from the looks of things, it may make my condition checking a lot more refined. Thank you, too! I'll check into it.

  • Tom - Sure thing. Thank you.

    I was the third fastest.

  • There were a couple of bugs which have now been squashed. We're nearly there now! Not too much longer to hang on :)

:-/ Please forgive me for asking about this...AGAIN. Um, I was just wanting to check if this will include me getting my badge for being one of the Lighting Draws for a new release downloader and not just a Quick Draw. I got a badge...just not the right one.

  • Here's a guide that may help you with your performance:

That was a GREAT resource. Thanks for bringing that to our attention. Soooooo much to learn! LOL

  • goldentreee - For an English-2nd-language speaker, you're doing amazingly well. Only the occasional "burp" in your speaking skills, but you're otherwise VERY easy to understand. Well done in your studies! English is NOT an easy language to learn, even if you grew up speaking it!

I'm also very glad you posted this help request, as it gives me a lot to keep in mind as my own project grows. I've been concerned, too, about putting too many objects on my screen, and I haven't even crossed 100 on one layout (I'm still in very early development)!

Ashley - Thanks for the feedback on goldentreee's issue. It's nice to know that even if there is the rare-n-random "burp", it's not out of the norm for now. Looking forward to improvements when you make them. :) But I trust you WILL. You're good like that.

  • I want to check in a single Event condition if a text/string variable has either of two possible values. In a similar way that you can set a value like "This text " & "this text " & "will be set to a variable.", where the & serves as a kind of "link" (I don't know the tech geek term) to all the values wanting to be equally stored to the variable.

However, what if I want to check if EITHER of the values are already in the variable?

Similar to how we can make an Event block an OR block, is there a cousin to the & that functions as a sort of Boolean for a single variable test comparison (condition)?

+ System | Variable = "This" OR "That"

So the condition would be satisfied if either "This" or "That" was the Variable value. If such an option exists, what symbol do I use?

  • - Ooops. My bad. In all honesty I hadn't realized there was such a difference, and here in the forums there's no medal attached to the profile pic... My mistake.

  • Whiteclaws - How the heck did you get yours for $30?! LOL

*checks pixels of our medals...* They look to be the same. You sure you aren't trying to mislead me? :P
