  • Does Google drive rather than Drop box work for you?

    googledrive.com/host/0BzCTu6cetAwRNDA3eWRvYk1RUHM/index.html

My version does not work for me at all in Firefox, but yours does.

However both Gd, and Db versions work for me in Chrome, but not in Canary ... I'm guessing some sort of flag there.

Internet explorer runs yours, but not mine, and Safari doesn't run anything.

Ipad3 on the other hand runs everything.

Has something been updated that hasn't propagated to the other browsers?

  • I'm afraid you've taken that a little to literally.

Its a grouping, or collection of events, not the organization control.

  • Try Construct 3

Develop games in your browser. Powerful, performant & highly capable.

  • Looks like you'll have to do a maximize on start of layout to do full screen.

  • 17 mb isn't that bad.

Perhaps you could use a different delivery method other than email.

Surely you've herd of torrents before.

  • The variables scope is the on start event, and a function by definition leaves that scope.

The only bug you've found is the fact that you can reference that variable.

  • Yes, that would place both motorcycles in the container along with the rider. Its like an unbreakable chain.

What you are wanting is something like the Object Pairer from Construct Classic. It could pair objects together for picking without the creation/destruction issues. I think its on the todo list.

The work around for now is storing the corresponding objects uid in an instance variable.

You can also try using IID, but that can get messy.

Or are you confused by the fact that you can not use one object as a parent if the other objects are already in a container?

    I know I am.

  • Link to .capx file (required!):

    Steps to reproduce:

    1. Run the capx in preview

    2. Export to html5

    3. Load index.html

    Observed result:

    Export does not connect

    Expected result:

Connection as it works in preview

    Browsers affected:

    Chrome: yes

    Firefox: yes

    Internet Explorer: yes

    Operating system & service pack:

    764

    Construct 2 version:

    144.2

I tried to copy what websocket.org has for their demo.

    Link to my results.

  • That would essentially be one container for all the objects.

So if one object (doesn't really matter which one) is destroyed then they all are.

  • I think the question now is do you want to work on a platform that is over 10 years old, and about to loose support from its manufacturer?

  • One of my favorite sayings is "You don't go to war with what you want, you go with what you have."

That being said, you just have to know when to pick the fight.

The tools are there, you have to approach things differently.

You plan out every little detail.

Pick a platform, and if you can extend to others so be it.

For example, memory is limited, so you do things small.

Casual games are usually pretty small, but things like rts, and rpg's are huge. One way to deal with that is make the game in parts, episodic if you will. The net is perfect for that, once more that can work fairly well with Node-Webkit.

  • Something is definitely wrong.

I dont have any or's, the preview works fine, but the export goes black, not even seeing the loader icon. Tried it with, and without minification.

  • Birthday, on a Friday the 13th?!

Heh, have a good one, and don't accept any presents from people wearing hockey masks.
