  • I've got a VM running XP SP3. I installed Chrome to a new limited user account, installed C2 r48 and opened your project. It previewed just fine - no problems at all.

I can't think what could be going wrong your end. When you preview, if you hit refresh a couple of times, does anything come up? Beyond that, I have no idea... maybe you can play around a bit and see if anything fixes it...

  • Can you copy and paste the error message here? (It's always useful to have the complete info)

  • chrisbrobs, can you send me that exported application so I can take a look and maybe figure out why it's not showing anything? The .capx would be useful too.

Don't worry about jQuery not being there, we removed it in a recent release in favour of loading it off the Google CDN.

  • It tries port 80, and if access is granted it uses that. On Vista and up, you're never granted access to port 80 unless you run as administrator. So as a workaround, it tries ports 50000 - 50100, which are allowed, and are "private ports" (no one application can claim them for sole use).

Even on Windows XP, if you're already running a server on port 80, it should block Construct 2 and get it to use a port in the 50000 - 50100 range. Does this happen or does it conflict with the server? If it conflicts, I'll simply turn off port 80 for the next build and have it always use 50000-50100.

  • I dont think ringing the Chrome Developers to ask them to change stuff is an option i would go for.

No, but when there's nothing else you can do, it's worth a shot. Fire them an email. If 1000 people have the same problem, shrug, and say "they'll never listen to me", nothing will happen. If 1000 people shrug, fire off a quick email to Google, then forget about it - Google get inundated with emails making it very very clear the users want something. We can't send them 1000 emails for you :)

  • Apart from what Kyatric says, once the browser is running, the browser decides how the text appears. If you don't like how it looks, you should try another browser or contact the browser maker and ask them to fix it. There's nothing we can do.
