  • That link doesn't seem to be working.

If you're placing non-solid objects on top of solids, that doesn't "undo" the solidness. Solid objects are always solid no matter what is on top of them. Otherwise, if you had a see-through cloud object over a rock, the player could then walk through the rock!

  • I'm not sure what you mean. Can you post a .capx? If you want the player to be able to walk on the sprites on the top layer, you can just make them solid too.

  • You can make tiled backgrounds solid by adding the solid behavior - but you usually don't want to do that in top-down games (like the ghost shooter tutorial) - solid means you can't move on top of it!

You don't have to have two layers either, it's just useful for organising your objects (so you can lock the background, for example).

Noesis: you need to tell us what the error messages are, otherwise it's impossible to help. Also, it makes it much easier for us to help you if you share your .capx file. Then we can see what you've actually done. Otherwise we're left guessing!

  • I'd see it, but it is not available for keywords like "loopindex", which are defined before the action.

I don't understand. It's right there in the list, under the System object, next to the "objectcount" expression.

  • xeed, haven't you seen the object panel while the parameters dialog is up? It lists every expression available in the project.

  • Firefox 5 and IE9 already hardware accelerate their HTML5 canvas, so if you're using those browsers Construct 2 games are already hardware accelerated.

I'm not aware of any way HTML5 can access a microphone - there are probably some difficult security issues to get around.

  • C2 needs an array editor in C2 itself so you can set up array's initial values easily. It could do saving and loading to disk, but that's generally a bit trickier in a browser. Some kind of solution for this is on the todo list!

What do you need to set up a big array for, though? If it's some way of displaying a tilemap from an array, you could just (wait for snap to grid and) set it up in the layout editor.
