  • The beginner's tutorial works around it with a "move forward" action. This makes the bullets spawn at the end of the gun rather than at the hotspot. Traditionally there would be an image point at the end of the gun.

  • how can access the value of a global variable for a condition/subevent of an event?

If it's global, it appears everywhere. So it should just appear in the 'set/add/subtract variable' system actions.

an i use defined global variables in every event sheet?

Yep, go ahead and try it, it should work just fine. That's the purpose of global variables.

f so, how and shouldn't it be displayed as compendium in every event sheet?

I'm not sure what you mean - they should just appear in the system actions as before. If you don't want a variable to appear in another event sheet, move it in to a subevent or a group and it'll become a local variable. Then, you can only access it in that "scope" (that group or that event's subevents).

  • This is more of a todo than a bug. From the other thread:

First problem: copying and pasting events between projects isn't supported yet. Sorry - on the todo list.

  • OK, I've made a change for the next build. It will keep looping until it successfully creates a temporary directory. It also avoids using a Windows function that I've read fails if there are 65536 temp files. So hopefully this will fix it.

  • The number in brackets is the error code, which MSDN says is "Access denied". Why would Windows deny access to the Temp folder?! I'll try and look in to this more...

  • If you ignore the check failure, you'll see what would happen in a non checked build. I think it should simply report in the next screen that encoding/decoding failed.

  • The monsters just move in a straight line from one side of the screen to the other

You've set an acceleration of 600 on all the ghost's Bullet movement. That's a really high value so they'll get faster and faster! Set it to 0 for all of them and they keep going at a steady speed.

    nd I cant shoot either.

Works OK here. Your event for shooting looks fine too.

lso forgot to ask, would using tutorials for Construct Classic work if I'm using Construct 2 because there doesnt seem to be all that many for the newer version yet.

Classic has a different UI and some subtle differences to C2 (like not being zero based and other little gotchas), plus C2 is much newer so doesn't have as many features yet. You can try Classic tutorials for C2, but you might need to ask for help if you get stuck, or you might just run in to something that hasn't been added to C2 yet. We're working on more C2 specific tutorials, it's just it's a lot of work and C2 is fairly new!

lso Is there a limit to how large files can be when importing them into construct?

    Nope, no limits on filesize.
