  • I had a quick look, but are you aware that triggers only run if all their parent events are true too?

For example, you have 'On B pressed' as a subevent to "Layer ItemSelection is visible". If that layer is not visible, the 'On B pressed' trigger won't fire.

Can you reproduce an issue with triggers which are not in subevents or do you think it's just how you've set up the events?

  • If you click Yes, does Visual Studio have any useful information in it? (Lucky you have it installed!)

  • Works fine for me on r56, Windows 7. I just nudged the ball down a bit and hit save. Did I do something wrong?

  • Space Blaster is deliberately designed to exercise hardware acceleration by having tonnes of sprites and explosions. It's perfectly possible to make games that run well even on software rendering!

  • Try Construct 3

  • Thanks for the ideas. We're not going to do tilemaps right away by the looks of things, but when we do, we'll come back and review these ideas and talk about it with everyone to make sure we do the right thing :)

  • Oh, Direct2D isn't available on Windows XP, I forgot. It's part of DX10 for Vista+ only. Duh! Well, I'm not sure how to tell then.

  • Now I think about it, it would make sense to do polygon collisions before physics really - otherwise all your physics collisions will be bounding box too!

  • Yeah, you should resize the ghost shooter window to the same size as the other tests to keep it fair.

Firefox 4+ uses hardware acceleration, but only if your drivers are up to date. Go Firefox menu -> Help -> Troubleshooting information, and under "Graphics", check "Direct2D enabled" is "true".

Firefox 6 seems a fair bit faster than Firefox 4 - in some of my tests, it actually has come out the fastest of all browsers. Different browsers are good at different things.

  • BSOD usually cannot be caused by software. So I would guess the problem is not Google Chrome. BSOD is usually only caused by driver problems or system errors. Maybe time to reinstall Windows... Chrome is rock solid and totally stable for me here.

  • Hi all,

Construct 2 r56 now means C2 has both image origins (formerly "hotspots") and image points. These were previously two of the biggest requests for C2.

The time has come to see what's next for Construct 2. The thread What's next for Construct 2? serves as a great shortlist, so I've taken some of the most popular suggestions and added this to a poll. This way it's easy for me to see at a glance what I should work on next!

Give it some thought, because we can't do everything at once, and whatever tops the poll will probably be whatever I work on next :) You can only choose one, so pick the one you want most. (I know a lot of these everyone wants, but I can re-run polls later once stuff gets completed.) Also note, we're not considering other exporters at this time - we're sticking to HTML5.

    Happy voting!

  • HTML5 already runs on all desktop PCs, iPhone, Android, and many other devices, via the browser. Is it the app stores you specifically want to publish through? You seem to disregard HTML5 although it's already totally multiplatform and runs most places you mentioned.
