  • Should they? It's not obvious whether this is a bug in Construct 2 or a logic problem in your events. It's very difficult and time consuming for me to check the project to verify the logic of the events is indeed sound, and therefore the problem must only be a bug in Construct 2. I'll double check some time in future, but it would save tonnes of time if you could reproduce keyboard events not working in an empty project with as few events as possible.

  • I'm looking at your .capx but I'm not sure what it's supposed to be doing so I can't tell if anything's broken or working. Please read tips for posting.

Are you aware: an array sized N by 0 by 0 has a total of N x 0 x 0 elements, which is 0 elements, which means you can never read or write any values in the array. It has no elements! If you want a one dimensional array, you must size it N x 1 x 1.

  • Stop the the bullet movement once it's within a few pixels of the target. You could use the distance() expression to calculate if it's very close.

  • There's so many people are creating their personal websites completely with Flash for a way back.

This was never encouraged by usability experts. That's an old article from 2000 - some of the stuff has improved a little since then. Basically we're happy people like making websites in Construct 2, but we are first and foremost developing a game creation tool, not a web design tool.

  • Did you add the Mouse object? From page 2:

    b]Add the input objects

Turn your attention back to the layout. Double click to insert another new object. This time, select the Mouse object, since we'll need mouse input. Do the same again for the Keyboard object.

(Edit: moved to Construct 2 'how do I?' forum.)

  • You should always include delta-time (the time since the last tick) in movements. For example, use

Rotate 90 * dt degrees clockwise

If you rotate 1 degree per tick like you had, at 10fps it rotates 10 degrees a second, and at 60fps it rotates 60 degrees a second (6 times faster). So to make games move at the same rate you always need to use dt. In the above example, it rotates 90 degrees per second regardless of the framerate.

When you set the timescale to 0, dt becomes 0 as well, so movements using dt also stop.
