  • I think it would be very odd if the "page ready" event fired more than once, but regardless I've put a check in the next build which will prevent creating a second runtime if one already exists. Perhaps appMobi is just starting multiple apps and you need to close everything?

  • Ah, I see - does it happen on files saved normally to Documents though?

  • The error you posted mentioned error 1114, which I looked up and is "A dynamic link library (DLL) initialization routine failed". I think perhaps the HTTP server is not supported on SP2 after all. Hopefully upgrading to SP3 should fix it. To be honest we've never officially tested Construct 2 on XP SP2, it's just the technical documentation we've read indicates it should work on SP2, but there's nothing like real world testing. If upgrading to SP3 works, I'll revise the manual system requirements to say SP3. So let me know how it goes! I hope the next session goes a bit better :-\</p>

  • The first thing I would recommend is updating all the computers to SP3. It's a free update and may fix some of the issues.

The second thing is you should update all the computer's graphics card drivers. Out of date drivers is the #1 problem causing crashes and glitches in Construct 2. The error you linked to (referencing atioglxx.dll) is the driver for the ATI graphics card that has crashed, so there is nothing we can do to fix it from Construct 2, it's ATI's fault. In our system requirements we note you must have the latest graphics card drivers and we've blogged about the issue and why it is largely out of our hands. ATI make crappy, broken drivers and it makes our software look like it's broken :-

After you have fixed both those points things should work a lot more smoothly. I know it's a pain managing a whole room of computers but I'm afraid if you don't keep them up to date then it's difficult to guarantee newer software is going to work properly. FYI service pack 3 was released in 2008, nearly 4 years ago, and SP2 was released in 2004, so is now nearly eight years old, which is a very long time in technology.

  • See the Lighting.capx file in the examples directory. You should be able to make more advanced lighting techniques by working from that basic example, it's a very simple demo.

  • OR, like many many things, has been on the todo list for ages. We'll get round to it eventually.

  • Could you check for the files I mentioned? Would be useful to help work out what the issue is.

  • Really? Are you sure this is the problem? Which export format are you using? It uses different events to create the runtime depending on the platform. Still, I'll add once-only checks to all export formats just in case.

  • Have you tried just using the Mouse object? It sounds like IE Mobile just fires mouse events for touches. You might be stuck with single touch input though, which would suck.

  • Sorry, you can't yet customise the loading screen in Construct 2 games, other than changing the logo.png image. It's on our todo list to improve this!

  • Pode, PhoneGap Build doesn't support plugins, so using any of those prevents anyone from being able to build their game on PhoneGap Build. Then you gotta install hundreds of megabytes of dev software to build instead. PhoneGap Build say they'll support plugins in future so I was going to wait for that.
