How to make a good game

Making a good game may seem really hard to a lot of people, but it isn't really that bad. Mostly because you can still make a good game, but people don't play it because they're not very smart.

What type of game to make

Alot of the time they say that the right type of game to make is the type that most people have played on the arcade. Well, I have two things to say about that. First of all, don't ask me who 'they' are. I don't know who 'they' are. Just ask them yourself. Whoever they are... Secondly, TOTALLY IGNORE WHAT 'THEY' SAY! This may be confusing, but the reason those types of games have so many players is probably not because of what type of game it is, but because the game is actually fun. If there was a type of game that was not in the most played games, it is probably because nobody made one good enough to get up there, not because people hate that type of game. Maybe. Just make whatever type of game you want, without worrying about what people will think about the type of game. Just as long as the game isn't terrible. (Kidding, it can be terrible but still good) Basically to sum up, just make whatever type of game you want. But don't blame me if it goes wrong.

Thing that make people like your games

There are certain things that make people want to play games. And they're very important. Well, besides the unimportant ones. So first, you have to have a fun game. (Duh) Basically, whatever type of game it is, have alot of it in the game. If its action have alot of action, if its adventure have cool adventure things in it, etc. etc.

Another important thing is to have a good cover. This actually may be one of the main things for people to play your game, because if your game has a good cover, people will think it's a good game. Try to get the cover very detailed and cool. And make sure to add explosions. It always needs explosions. If it's a math game, make it math explosions. Just try to make it look like a really amazing game, even if it's not really very good.

Lastly, one thing that is sometimes really helpful is to have a good storyline. Not always games do, in fact most of the time they have no storyline, but who doesn't like a good storyline? It's just a really good option to consider. Unless of course you hate storylines, and just love boring games about toenails dancing or something weird like that.

Things to have to make it more fun

For the final part of this tutorial, I will talk about fun things. That came out wrong. I mean I'll talk about things that make the game fun. A good example would be interesting levels. Like for instance, have detailed and action-packed backgrounds or scenery to make it seem more realistic, and have cool areas (with explosions!!!!!!) Just try to get as much good graphics interesting places in there as possible.

Another thing would to make sure the game works right. I mean, who else here hates it when you get really far in a game but then get stuck somewhere and there's no restart level button, so you have to restart the entire game? Make sure you have a restart button or some other means of restarting the level. Also make sure your game events and mechanics work right so you can actually get past the game. When you're finished with the game, make sure to play through it to make sure it's possible to finish.

One final thing is to add an amazing ending. Don't just do some lame 'the end' text on the screen, try to add like a cool cutscene or picture or SOMETHING of the sort. It's important that people feel accomplished or whatever by the time they finish the game. And that's about it. Maybe there's something I missed but who has the time to write everything? Not me.
