In this tutorial, we'll learn how to make a 3D card flip effect using Blender and InkScape. The idea is not to change the 3D card each time you create a new game/application, but to change the front and back images of a card.

You will need Blender and InkScape, or any other image application, I'm not going to go into Blender too much, but here is a few steps in creating the 3D card animation:

Blender

Create a card object:

Move the camera to top view

Rotate the card about the Y-axis, and insert key frames as you go along. I created 60 frames.

InkScape

Draw your front and back images of the card you require, make sure they are the same size as the card, for best results, don't add a border to your images, as the image will actually be shrinked, to simulate the flip of a card.
