Notes

This week we're bringing support for 3D collisions to 3D model! Now you can choose to use a model's mesh for collisions by changing the new Collider type property. It still defaults to using the bounding box, but you can opt in to using the full mesh, which also uses the same optimized mesh collision system we used with mesh distortion in the previous release. This means collision performance should be good even with highly complex meshes, especially if they are static.

This release also introduces a new demo game Bug Jam! In this game you must guide swarms of insects through tunnel networks, avoiding hazards and using each species' unique abilities to solve increasingly challenging puzzles. As ever you can find this in the Example Browser.

We've also got a batch of bug fixes, including a fix for bullet stepping not working correctly with 3D collisions, and some further fixes for 3D model and the Parameters Dialog. Happy testing!

  • Fantastic!!! Been waiting on this feature to finally hit. Many thanks to the development team! :)

  • It is really great to have 3D collisions in Construct now.

BTW: I think Construct is the game engine that comes with the most built-in examples.

Which is a very good thing. Good job guys !!

  • Something must be wrong. on Chrome the project won't start if a 3d model is present at all. even if it's the only object
