Yes, both animate text addons broke during the last Construct beta cycle and so are now broken in the last stable version.
I really did not have time to fix them, so for now stick to the previous stable version for a while

Hi, not really. This would more likely be an idea submission, which I already did in the past and was rejected by Ashley. This addon exists as a non backwards compatible alternative for people who want that behavior anyway.
