  • Who said anything about it being dark? It's "atmospheric".

  • I just bought my new PC, what are some good games to get ATM?

    Minecraft?

Also... maybe Bullet Storm, Fallout Vegas, and Minecraft.

I don't know what else to suggest really... what kind of games are you in to?

  • IE always has been , and forever will be completely hopeless.

I just got sick of the non-stop malware magnet that IE is, with it's huge memory footprint (not even a footprint, more like a canyon) and buggy code support.

Try loading a co.cc domain in IE and see what happens? Apparently I'm not connected to the internet (according to IE when trying to view a co.cc site)... but FireFox can view it just fine.

Why does 95% of everything Microsoft makes have to SUCK SO BADLY? With all that money and stuff, you would think they could do things the right way, but it's just so hard for them. It makes me sad really since things could easily be so much better.

  • Very nice lucid

Also, Metro 2033 wasn't bad... runs at like 45fps on my rig at max detail (DX10 mode). Not bad to a 2-3 year old system I guess... but yes an upgrade to CPU (mainly) would be nice. I think these video cards are still bottlenecked since any mild overclocking I do gives HUGE framerate boosts. Goes to show these things are still way overpowered even for what was a state-of-the-art machine when it was bought.

  • Thought about it yes, but typically it doesn't get that hot here... and if it does the heat is so unbearable I can't use the computer anyway since I'D melt lol.

  • I have had stuff like this happen to all sorts of electronic equipment.

Motherboards that were screwed, magically coming back to life. Hard drives with dead daughterboards, also returning from the grave.

It's weird... it's like they just need time to rest or something. It will eventually **** itself again though, so don't get too attached.

  • CPU redlines at around 70C (Intel Q9300 from about 2-3 years back)

Sitting in windows at standard clock it hovers around 55C on a 30C day.

Under 100% load it gets to about 60C.

Overclocked from 2.4Ghz to 3.1Ghz average temp raises about 7C

On a 40C+ day I don't turn my computer on.

My PC is in a detached "unit" or as we call it a "granny flat"... I think Americans might refer to it as an "office"... anyway there is no aircon out here. Last time we had a 42C day it hit 54C in this room. PC was still running but CPU was dead on 70C which is where transistors start to screw up.

I guess with 2xGTX280 GPU's and 6 HDDs in this case... it like a 3-bar element heater running on full. The stock CPU fan that came with the thing was so crap, my system would overheat and bluescreen if I did anything beyond sitting at the desktop. If I take the video cards out and put in something milder (like a 9800GT or something) I notice about a 15C drop in ambient temperature.

This thing is on the edge. :/

Just did a full flush after 15,000 hours of use. Not a single ounce of "crud" in the lines. I guess people either make that stuff up, or don't maintain their fluid levels properly.
