  • Problem Description

    Construct 2 Freezing while using!

    Attach a Capx

    Doesn't matter which .Capx I use, brand new project or old over 100 event project.

    Description of Capx

    Randomly while using C2, the whole program freezes. Just the program nothing else on my laptop freezes. I usually get on chrome while waiting for C2 to unfreeze. Or I can Ctrl, Alt, Del to unfreeze the program.

    Steps to Reproduce Bug

    Nothing specific that I have found to reproduce it, just open the program and wait.

    Observed Result

    C2 Freezes as expected.

    Expected Result

    I expect the program to not freeze and allow me to work.

    Not a browser problem!

    Windows 10 build 9879

    Construct 2 Version ID

    I just got the personal edition and I believe it's 195. Can't seem to find how to check. If someone could let me know where to find it. I own C2 on steam.

  • It seems it can't locate the images. So there must be something wrong with the additional file you uploaded.

    Be sure you pack everything inside a *.zip and make sure you are compressing sets of loose files instead of a folder.

    Also don't use spaces inside the name of the *.zip file.

    I moved everything out of a folder. So everything is root, but still a black screen with the C2 loading logo, not loading.

  • Nevermind, I didn't even realized the first layout affected the next layout.

  • Hi, your player sprite has default controls set to yes on your StarMenu layout. Fix that and it will work.

    I have already tried that, the arrow keys still give control even when set to no.

    I try to play the game, but the C2 logo won't even start loading. It just stays on the loading logo.

  • I'm making a driving game, and I have set custom controls for the car. I have the "Default" Controls set to off or "No", but the arrow keys still allow the car to be driven. If i test the game in the driving layout the arrow keys are off, but if I test from the beginning layout, they control the car again. Any ideas?

    I'll put the .capx in later.

  • No one at all is having this problem? This really cuts into my productivity.

  • Randomly while using C2, the whole programs freezes (Doesn't matter what I'm doing). The only way to unfreeze it is to either force close and restart (Losing data) or Ctl, Alt, Del and exiting the task manager (Which unfreezes the whole program, like nothing ever happened.

    Anyone have this happen to them?

    Running latest build as of posting this, 187 I think?

    Windows 8.1.

  • Due to some breaking changes in the latest C2 bulds from r187 onwards, the Arcade will only accept games exported from r186.2: scirra.com/construct2/releases/r187 (the release notes say 168.2 but this is a mis-type).

  • My C2 is updated by steam, and is the latest version.

    It says the arcade isn't up to date.
