  • Hi everyone,

I have a specific question regarding the legal obligations of the Construct Classic runtime license for a project I am working on.

As far as I know, the Construct Classic runtime was changed to the 3-clause BSD license years ago. Since the BSD license requires the copyright notice and disclaimer to be included in binary distributions (like an exported .exe game), I would like to clarify the following:

    1. Is it strictly mandatory to include the BSD license text/credits in the game documentation or credit screen for any commercial or non-commercial release?
    2. Does Scirra grant any kind of exceptions to this requirement for specific use cases, or is the BSD requirement absolute due to the contributions of multiple authors?

Since Construct Classic is legacy software, I want to make sure I am fully compliant with the licensing terms before distributing anything. Thank you in advance for your time and help!
