  • Well, since you gave platforms as an example, I'd say about 1-2 hours.

Most old platform games are this big, I think..

Unless it's a metroidvania, then with all the back-tracking it would probably double or triple the total length..

Anyway, if you're just making a normal platformer, don't think about the total length, think about how many levels it will have. 10 levels that you can beat in a hour is a lot more satisfying than 3 huge levels that look the same all the way..

  • You can change the project name on the properties.

  • Oooh, I think I get it.. I'll try it out, thanks!

  • You guys mispelled "entries" on the other thread name, by the way. <img src="smileys/smiley17.gif" border="0" align="middle" />

  • Try Construct 3

  • I couldn't make a high-score board using the "request high-score board" option.. how do I do it exactly?

I created a text object then put it to receive the data from the high-score, but not only it shows my score as 0 but it only shows 1 name..

  • Particles, that's pretty much all I want right now.

  • I have the same question actually, is behavior changing on runtime planned?

  • I've tried messing with it but I'm not sure how to do everything, or in which order should I do everything..

What I'm trying to do is:

    • Post score to Facebook (this worked I think)
    • Post to user Facebook wall (I could do this, it worked)
    • Show the top 3 high scores (this worked with my name, but the score showed up as 0)

Could anyone create a simple .capx tutorial showing what's the best order to do everything?

    Thanks!

  • Try creating another sprite, giving it the platform movement and making it invisible, then center the camera on it. Then, make the ball always have the same X position as it, while still boucing.. might work.

  • The 3 sprites are the same object? Or are you talking about 3 complete different objects?

  • Yesss, I feel accomplished hahaha... I still have much I want to do on that game tho, like adding a hat shop and integrating it better with facebook.

  • Really cool game!

I think the controls are a little stiff tho, I ended up missing a lot of jumps.. but I think that's something you get used to.

  • Wink

For me, the best thing about this competition is having a deadline.. I swear, I've been creating games since I was 15 with Klik 'n Play, Multimedia Fusion, etc, and this is the first time I've actually finished a game (the frequent crashes of both said programs didn't help much).

And you always get to learn so much new stuff, too..

  • Thanks Tom!

  • I have a question: I made a game about a pig in space, but the background is actually the moon.

Does it still count as space?

    Here's the game:
