Reporting tutorials

  • The reporting does not seem to be moderated.

    a) When checking some tutorials, I've noticed how bad they were and people commenting about it ("not a tutorial", "badly explained", "there are simpler solutions")

-> after a reporting, nothing happens.

    b) One tutorial has been uploaded three times:

Visual Timer Bar for Games (no. 665)

Visual Timer Bar for Games (no. 664)

Visual Timer Bar for Games (no. 663)

    c) Tutorials cannot be deleted by the author??

Another topic - when I wrote some tutorials, at some point Scirra Website kicked me out.. grrr... Well, it can take an hour or more when writing a tut, guys.

  • I agree that some people are making tutorials that aren't tutorials.

Some times the tutorials aren't very well written.

some times the tutorials are the same as others

some times they are nothing but a link to a youtube page

some times they are a link to a capx

however the important part about writing a tutorial is.

    Save Draft

    Preview often

write the core tutorial in another document writer.

  • Tutorials are moderated, believe it or not, it's just that we're a small staff of moderators going through them according to our availabilities.

It may take time, but they get moderated eventually.

Oh, I now saw the save option! I'll try it out later :-) duhh.

Yep, I wrote the core tut in the normal editor.. ;-)

  • Another copycat...

    We NEED tutorial moderation!

    Restricting enemies to platform binds

  • I don't mind, a bad tutorial is better than no tutorial, if it isn't good no one is forcing a gun to my head to do what it says. Besides, even in some of the bad tutorials you can find/learn something (from a beginner point of view) and make it better, simpler.

What we need is the ability to post tutorial and link it to forum post for comments that way we can contribute as a community and add solutions/simpler variations/ etc etc

  • Some aren't even tutorials, as I've noticed :-(

Lately, there have been many duplicates.

And there are others that teach you wonderful things in 3 sentences

Can't we expect a little quality here? Finally, Construct 2 is not a kids' game

    Lol!

Edit: deleted post about putting in tutorials limited to 1000 plus rep limit, but 3 sentence boy you linked to has over 2000. So scratch that idea

  • Try Construct 3

  • I'm personally ok with a tutorial that may not be well written. I do however believe that a tutorial should have a value of content. I also believe the tutorial shouldn't be copy catted. However saying copy cat some people may have different ways of doing a feature and that is ok.
